A useful educational website for teaching English to beginners is Arcademic Skill

Builders (http://www.arcademics.com/), because it encompasses many fun educational games for

children that make learning easier for them. It contains a section entitled Language Games and

another facility offered by the site is that games can be selected according to the grade of the

student, going from the 1st grade to the 6th grade.

The Spelling games and the Word Relationship games can be used as reinforcement of

vocabulary learnt before, or even in order to present new vocabulary, as one of the games

provides practice in matching antonyms, synonyms and homonyms. The variety of games is well

suited for beginners who constantly require something new to capture their attention and in the

meantime, their reading and spelling ability will improve. Therefore, these games focus on the

students’ reading and writing skills in a fun way. Moreover, grammar-centered games are also

available, as in one of the games the student has to choose the correct verb tenses, to recognize

correct verb forms and to recognize subject/verb agreement.

In conclusion, the Arcademic Skill Builders is a fun resource for teaching English to

beginners and to improve their grammar, writing, reading and spelling.
