After a devastating earthquake destroyed the capitol of Haiti and caused the death and injury to hundreds-of-thousands, the students at Tascosa knew they had to do something to help. With that spark, and under the combined leadership of the Student Council, Jr. ROTC, Graphic Design Club, French Club, DECA and the Key Club, our students raised $1,300 to assist the Red Cross in their great relief efforts there. The “standout” class in this effort was our sophomores who alone raised half of this money. Thanks to all who contributed so generously to help our “neighbors to the south.”

ArtTascosa Art Students are making about 400 clay bowls and donating them to “empty bowls” which is a grassroots organization to end hunger. The bowls will be sold at an auction coordinated by Faith City Ministries this summer. Profits will go to stock local food banks. The students are very excited about this service project and have made some beautiful pieces.

THS art students worked hard preparing for a showing at the Amarillo Museum of Art. Their pieces were also displayed in the commons.
