One to one tuition with targeted Year Six children started in Term 1 and started this Term 2 with targeted Year Four children. Over the weeks ahead, specialist teachers  will deliver focused ten week blocks of one to one tuition to assist in targeting support to your children. In addition to this programme of targeted support, we have just completed our first term of one to one tuition for Key Stage One early readers and writers, delivered by qualified staff from the education charity, Springboard for children. This provision is twice weekly delivering thirty to forty minute one to one sessions with 15 pupils across Years One and Two. It is hoped to extend provision across the whole of Year One in terms three and four. Specialist one to one teaching is also provided to five children across Key Stage Two where a particular special educational need has been identified. This support is delivered by a qualified Special Educational Needs teacher through the local authority’s literacy buy back service. Our staff continue to support individual children on a weekly one to one tuition basis including five children in Year Five receiving short weekly sessions with our higher level teaching assistant; all the children with a statement for special educational needs and those at school action plus are supported by teaching assistants and receive targeted one to one tuition on a weekly basis. We also provide one to one reading support for all Year Four children across the year from our volunteer reader, Tammy Marlow.  All this targeted support follows the outline of an Individual Tuition Plan (ITP) for pupils which agrees targets, planned support and intended outcomes that it is aimed to achieve. Any parent/carer who wishes to find out more about our one to one tuition work is invited to contact me at your convenience. One other way to find out more about how the school supports your child is to attend one of our ‘Understanding Inclusion’ briefings for parents . These meetings will provide opportunities for a range of questions and answers linked to inclusion matters and will be attended by key school staff and governors. Dear Parents/Carers,

Targeted ‘One to One’ Tuit ion for Immanuel & St Andrew pupils

The school has secured additional funding to provide free one to one tuition to 51 pupils across Years Three to Six

to target support in literacy and numeracy over this academic year. One to one tuition with targeted Year Six children

started in Term 1 and started this Term 2 with targeted Year Four children. Over the weeks ahead, specialist teachers

will deliver focused ten week blocks of one to one tuition to assist in targeting support to your children.

In addition to this programme of targeted support, we have just completed our first term of one to one tuition for Key

Stage One early readers and writers, delivered by qualified staff from the education charity, Springboard for children. This provision is twice weekly delivering thirty to forty minute one to one sessions with 15 pupils across Years One

and Two. It is hoped to extend provision across the whole of Year One in terms three and four.

Specialist one to one teaching is also provided to five children across Key Stage Two where a particular special

educational need has been identified. This support is delivered by a qualified Special Educational Needs teacher

through the local authority’s literacy buy back service.

Our staff continue to support individual children on a weekly one to one tuition basis including five children in Year

Five receiving short weekly sessions with our higher level teaching assistant; all the children with a statement for

special educational needs and those at school action plus are supported by teaching assistants and receive targeted

one to one tuition on a weekly basis. We also provide one to one reading support for all Year Four children across

the year from our volunteer reader, Tammy Marlow.

All this targeted support follows the outline of an Individual Tuition Plan (ITP) for pupils which agrees targets,

planned support and intended outcomes that it is aimed to achieve. Any parent/carer who wishes to find out more

about our one to one tuition work is invited to contact me at your convenience.

One other way to find out more about how the school supports your child is to attend one of our ‘Understanding

Inclusion’ briefings for parents . These meetings will provide opportunities for a range of questions and answers

linked to inclusion matters and will be attended by key school staff and governors. The times and dates for these

meetings are 9.00 a.m. on both Tuesday 16th

& Thursday 25th

November.

 Yours sincerely
