Target Audience Maximilian Shorter

A age group for a boxing documentary is from 15 year and upwards, so this documentary has a wide audience. People as young as this do boxing. They can be interested but the reason why I chose 15 years old to 25 is because they will be able to understand the difficulties growing up and how sport can change you. Also the age of the performer on the video is 17 years old and this is a perfect age because he can appeal to the young audience but he can appeal to the younger adults. People who are older than 25 can still watch this and most people do watch boxing because it is such a worldwide sport. But I am focusing on 15 to 25 year olds because of the age of the performer.

Age group

I am targeting males for my documentary. This is because my actor is male and will appeal to males more because some people can relate to him and they will be inspired by what he has done. Although women do boxing it is very much a male dominated sport because men are more violent than women in most cases. This is why my target gender is men because men like violence and action in films. In my research it shows that 86% like boxing so I am pleased that I am targeting men because it is a larger audience.

Gender

I am targeting all ethnicity's because sport in general brings all ethnicity’s together, especially boxing. In boxing there are many famous boxers who have different ethnic origins. Sport does not have a specific ethnic audience, they target all cultures, religions. This is the point I am trying to get across. I am trying to reach as many people as I can because I want my documentary to be successful and by achieving this I must target all ethnic audiences as all the other sports do.

Ethnicity

For the release for my documentary I would want it to be released in Britain. The national audience will be British. It will initially be broadcasted in Britain however would take advantage of online media outlets to share to a world wide audience.

Location

Regarding social grade any social grade could enjoy the documentary. Boxing would not target a specific class because people can enjoy the documentary. In my research suggested predominantly it would be from D to C. so 55% of full time employed people enjoy boxing. So this shows that working class to lower middle class are always out working and enjoy boxing more.
