Shooting my Pictures
With my family helping out by driving me up to my ideal location, we drove
up to Saddleworth Moors in a deserted area. This was important as I
wanted my shots to look alienated and thrilling.
On our commute we looked for places that would be safe to park up and take
pictures but that also wasn't on somebody's land. I found a hill that
lead off a main road. Because this hill didn't lead anywhere I considered it to
be appropriate to film on.
It was 6.30pm and so the sun was about to set. I chose this time as I
didn't want the pictures to look too bright, however it would be easier for me to take them in a natural light and
edit them so that they look darker.
Pros and Cons of Where I took my Pictures
Element Pros Cons
Weather – windy and rainy The weather made the scenery look more scary and unusual.
The problem was that the wind was blowing raindrops onto the lens. However, when I looked back through my pictures I found a few that were quite clear.
The time – almost sunset The lighting was not too light and so not scary but also not too dark that nothing was visible.
I will now have to edit the lighting so that it looks darker.
Saddleworth Moors It looks traditional and is central for me and my group when we create our trailer.
Far away from where I live and so I have to plan time to get there and get home as well as shooting time.
