Take time for yourself, you deserve it. ( And this is good for your kids )
Many parents nowadays are doing it all. They are raising their kids, managing their
household, working, and often doing everything else in their home. Some of them
barely have time for themselves because they are so busy taking care of their kids
and making sure that everything is working as it should around them. There are
some who have people around them who are willing to look after their kids so that
they can have some alone time, but most of them feel guilty when they take some
time away from their kids.
It is without any doubt that you are your childs’ biggest influence as a parent, but it
is also important to make sure that you do not forget other aspects of your life
when you have kids to look after. By taking some time away from your kids, you
are not only giving yourself the opportunity to focus on other aspects of your life
that matter the most, but you are also giving the kids the opportunity to connect
with other people that love them, for instance their nanny, uncle, aunts and
grandparents. You could to a yoga class, a date night or watch a movie with
friends. Taking time for yourself is good for you as well as your kids.
By giving your kids the opportunity to connect and interact with other people, you
will be allowing them to become well-rounded individuals that would be in a better
position to adapt to new people as well as new environments. You will be exposing
them to new ways of thinking as well as different ways of doing things. If you do
not give them that chance, they will have to learn everything from you, and that
means that their world-view will be limited. Good upbringing should be able to
expose the children to various learning environments in order to broaden the scope
of their understanding about life.
When children are growing up, they like getting new perspectives as well as ideas
from grownups. They will try to emulate the best qualities that they find in people
that they connect or interact with. So you should not be afraid to take some time
away from your kids with the fear that something bad may happen to them and so
on. Sooner or later, the kids will start making their own independent decisions
about life, so allowing them to interact and connect with other people will play a
very huge role in developing that independence.
When you take some time away from your kids, you will always find yourself
longing to reconnect with them. The kids will also be longing to reconnect with you.
This means that the quality of your interaction with them will be much better when
you reconnect, and that will be a great thing to you as a parent. If you force
yourself to spend all the free time you have with your kids, castles of resentment
and anger may start building, or it may just become a lot less fun for everyone.
This may negatively affect your relationship with the kids.
