companionship) in the beautiful Lake Tahoe area. Hiking season has

begun! We meet at 9:30 AM every Monday (weather permitting) in the

Rose Hwy.; from there we carpool to our hiking location. Please contact

Lynn Whetstone at [email protected] or 775-831-8608 if you

would like to participate and be notified of upcoming hikes by email.

During the warmer months, there are also kayaking (which meets Wednesday mornings) and road biking groups (which meets on Fri-days). Please contact Liz Paganelli at [email protected] if you would like to be added to the kayaking email list. You may contact Millie Clarke at [email protected] to be add-ed to the biking email list.

All three groups will be active throughout

the summer. We hope you will join us for

Attention Members

Are you interested in serving on the AAUW Tahoe Nevada Board? We are in need of a Public Policy Chair. This position is a magnificent way to serve your branch, and requires very little time commitment. You will be providing Public Poli-cy Articles for the monthly newsletter and attending Board meetings when available. A flair for the written word is helpful, but there is a great deal of content and assis-tance available as well. Have an interest in politics or policy issues? This gives you an opportunity to give back to the branch and also explore your interests! Call Debbie at 775.843.0775.

Please note: We are seeking volunteers to serve in the following appointed positions

for the upcoming year (a one year commitment)

Sunshine Committee: Time commitment varies, cards, notes to members

Downhill Skiing Leader (part of the Outdoor Enthusiast Group) arranges and leads

North Lake Tahoe Demonstration Garden Work Days NLTDG is an all volunteer run garden open to the public. It is located on the campus of Sierra Nevada College. The missions of the garden are to show ways of gardening that lower the environmental impact on Lake Tahoe and to demonstrate some BMPs that are required by the TRPA. Other workdays will be on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 2 to 5. P lease bring your own gloves. We have tools but if you have favorite tools bring them too.
