The wisdom and the prinsiples of community collage indicate that education is worthy and is unable to estimate the value of itself. The individual should be educated according to their potential and the government. The community college was founded and aims to provide educational opportunities for people to develop their abilities and the potential of the community both economically and socially. The three principle of community college consist of: (1) Uncomplicated to acces for people in the community, (2) Responding to community’s needs, (3) Management by the communities who are from community.

Phrae community college has the communities who plan and work in educational manegement led by the chairman and other honorable communitees. The collage also has academic communitees who give suggestions about academic works, curricula, learning and teaching processes. These are important tools for developing the academic abilities, Thai art and culture, and the local wisdom that is useful for developing the community and the country. Phrae Community College was founded for the people, managed by the people to provide education suitable o the community’s needs. We also apply the sufficient economy theory of the king to be a part of the educational process that is advantages for the people in Phrae province

The Knowledge Management for Strengthening Community Project is one of the missions of the community college emphasized by the Ministry of Education. The project proposes to develop 5 branches of work by using the potential of the area in the community and the policy of the board of communittees (80:20) to meet objectives of the 15 year Long Range Plan on Higher Education of Thailand. This plan intends that the community college will play important role in strengthening the community by applaying the concept of “ Understanding Mutual, Respect, and Development” to be utilized for developing the community.

Phrae Province is famous for teak wood products. The original people were skilled carpenters who conserved Lanna art works and skills from their ancestors for a long time. The process of making furniture was a part of their way of life and Lanna culture. In the present time, teak wood furniture is well known.

Phrae Community College and the Phrae Industry office is joining together with Hoadong Donmoon Furniture dealer community enterprise to develop teak wood furniture product that depend on the demand of market. Otherwise, we support the product development training together with the marketting development to prepare to join in the AEC. We have curricula for developing teak wood furniture products and the marketing strategy in a project that is call “Teak Wood Product Development Project”

This project is a pilot project to develop other community enterprises in Phrae province. On the 31st May 2012, one of the community enterprise of the project went to Zhishongpanna, Yunan in China, the participant found from their experience in China that it is going to be a big market for export. We are planning to expand the marketing to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.Mr. Boonyaphat Namwongprom

Most people think the method of learning and teaching the community college is studying in a classroom. Phrae Community College as proven that the propuse of founding community college couldn’t change in any factors.

Teak wood has its own history that is worth and valuable. In 2006, the faculty of Forestry in Kasetsart University had studied and researched about the potential of Phrae Province in relation to teak wood. From the research, we initiated 10 courses that cover the whole process of making furniture from teak wood. These were valuable academic resources becouse there were skills, management, and marketing in coorperated inthe curriculla.

In this year, Phrae Community College has developed those curriculla in the Teak Wood Product Development Project with the cooperation of Huadong Donmoon furniture dealer of community enterprises. These enterprises are leading are leading the group that want to develop Teak wood furniture products the processes of training that were thought and facilitated by Mr. Thanawat Witayapreechasilp, were modern learning that comes from the demand of customers and market analysis. The participants in these courses have practiced their skills and they have the prototype products, brochures for introducing products, and the catalogued work experience.

In conclusion, Phrae Community College has modern learning method that facilities both skill and knowledge for learners. The process of learnng will respon to the learners’ demands and needs so that they can be flexible and that they can fully apply their skills and knowledge on their products.

Phrae province is famous for a teak industry that has been manage by East Asiatic Denmark. The industry had changed strategies of management depending on external factors and laws.

For the past one hundred years ago, the ways of industry have been canged by teak resources and the enterprises from other countries. The ways to conserve the teak industry are; sipporting the skills of carpenters using teak wood from new forest industries, developing the process of making teak wood furniture, and finally working cooperatively. These will lead to the sustainability of teak wood furniture in the future.

In the 21st century, many strategies; AEC (ASEAN ECONOMIC COMMUNITY), GSM (Greter Maekong Subregion), etc., were used as the channel to greater competition in South East Asia. For this reason, it is very important to develop and support skilled carpenters and enterprises. It is also important that Phrae Community College, Huadong Donmoon furniture dealer of community enterprises, and teak wood furniture clustures should join in Teak Wood Product Development Project. The project is proposes are to support knowledge management,n and specify the direction of marketing, and design products that showcase their teakwood identify as a model for developing teakwood products in the future.
