THE PAST SIMPLE – ‘BE’ - FORM

The verb ‘be’ changes very differently from other verbs in the past tense.

The verb ‘be’ changes according to the subject.

Verb forms of positive past tense statements

The verb ‘be’ does not need a helping verb in negative statements.

Negative past tense statements
