MyLiveWall has developed a series of devices to help facilitate the care of loved ones. They can be installed in any location (i.e., personal residence, assisted living home) that has internet connectivity available.   The MyLiveWall device will enable you and your "Circle of Trust" to take an active role in the well being of loved ones who need emotional and organizational support from family members and friends. Once you hang the MyLiveWall device on a loved ones wall, you and any people you authorize can send messages, pictures, and calendar reminders. These messages will then be delivered to your loved ones Wall device via “Push” technology.  The intent of this service is that your loved one need no technical skills to operate this device. The setup/configuration is easily done by a family member. Once configured, the loved one only needs to use one of three clearly labeled buttons to page through messages, view photos, or send an alert to any person in the call list.  Our hope at MyLiveWall is that this device will help you bring a smile to the face of your loved one and show them how important they are every day.

 MyLiveWall Features :

1. Motion Sensor - The MyLiveWall device turns on when motion is detected within ?? feet of the WALL unit.

2. Date/Time/Temperature - Displays the current date, time and temperature based on the zip code of the current location (set via online configuration).

3. Photos - Any photos sent to the WALL unit or enabled through the online configuration (i.e., Chromecast pictures, public photo sharing albums) are randomly displayed in this area and changed every 10 minutes.

4. Calendar appointments - Public shared calendar appointments can be displayed in this area.

5. Mainscreen - This area of the screen can contain any pertinent information (family/friends phone numbers, doctors, motivational quotes).

6. Action Buttons ○ Message Button - used for scrolling through messages sent to the device. ○ Photo Button - used for scrolling through all photos stored on the device. ○ Alert Button - used to send an alert message to authorized people.

7. QR Code scanner - a camera reader located on the bottom of the WALL unit to aid in the setup of the device.

The WALL device has many features available to easily keep your loved ones engaged once the Wall unit has been configured to use the wifi. In order to configure and administer your WALL, you will need to create an account at: https://www.mylivewall.net/  To create an account, select “Register” on the left-side menu underneath “Welcome” This will take you to a “Create Account” screen and prompt you for the following information:

● Username - Enter either your email address or some short username ● Email address - Enter your full email address (i.e., [email protected]) ● Password - Choose a strong password

Once registered, you can login and complete the configuration of your WALL device. The minimal configuration required is to set the zip code and the WiFi connection information. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Select the Home->Setup New Device option from the left-side menu.

Page 5: T h e f o l l o w i n g i m a ge i l l u s t r a t e s t h e d i …O n ce t h e MyL i ve W a l l d e vi ce i s re g i st e re d a n d co n f i g u re d o n l i n e , t h e W A L L

2. Device Name - You will be prompted to name the device. While this name can be anything you choose, it is best that the device name corresponds to the loved one (i.e., “Grandpa John) who will be using the WALL so that any alerts or invitations (explained in the next section) will be identified by the user.

3. Mandatory Setup Specifics - Once the device name has been submitted, the next screen prompts for the only three pieces of mandatory information for the WALL device to operate properly with minimum configuration.

a. Zip Code - Enter the zip code of the location that the WALL device is going to be used.

b. SSID (Network Name) - The WALL device needs a WIFI connection to receive messages, photos, calendar appointments and temperature. Enter the network name that will be available in the location where the WALL device will be installed.

c. WPA Password - Enter the password for WIFI network listed above.

Once the mandatory setup configuration is done, additional useful features can also be set online. Those features and a brief description are as follows:  Preferences:

● Wake up/Sleep time -  ○ The default behavior of the WALL is for the screen to stay in sleep mode until

motion is detected and then it will illuminate. This behavior can be overridden with the Wake Up and Sleep Time. With the Wake Up Time option, you can set the time of day when the unit will become active (without motion detected). Likewise, the Sleep Time is used to set the time that the WALL will become inactive. A motion detection will still activate the WALL during sleep mode.

● Keep WALL software updated -  ○ this option will ensure the WALL software is kept up-to-date.

● No profile pics in photo stream -  ○ When emails are sent to a loved ones WALL unit, sometimes a profile picture is

included in the message. By default, these profile pictures are included in the photo stream on the WALL unit. This option omits those from the photo stream.

● Disable Motion Detection - ○ Default behavior for the WALL unit is to turn on and off based on the motion

detected unless this option is turned on. ● Show up to a week of appointments -

○ Default behavior is to show 24 hours of appointments. This option will expand that to a full week of appointments.

● Text-To-Speech for messages -  ○ This option can be enabled when loved ones have difficulty reading the display or

prefer to hear the messages. ● Volume level -

Page 6: T h e f o l l o w i n g i m a ge i l l u s t r a t e s t h e d i …O n ce t h e MyL i ve W a l l d e vi ce i s re g i st e re d a n d co n f i g u re d o n l i n e , t h e W A L L

○ If Text-To-Speech is enabled, this option can be changed to turn the volume up or down.

● Speed of speech synthesizer -  ○ Another option used with the Text-To-Speech is to set the speed of the message

playback.  External Content:

● Calendars - ○ In order to include calendar appointment, this option must be set to a public

calendar URL (most calendar tools, like Google and Apple, can provide a public URL).

● Chromecast pictures - ○ This option will set the WALL unit to include vibrant landscape photos randomly

in the photo stream.  ● Flicker Stream -

○ This option allows you to include a public photo album from the Flicker Photo Sharing service.

● Google Username - ○ If a Google username is set, the WALL will include any public shareable photos

from this Google user. ● Picasa Album Name -

○ This option allows you to include a public photo album from the Google Picasa Photo Sharing service.

Notification Settings: ● Turn off alerts

○ This option will deactivate the Alert button on the WALL unit and no Alert messages will be sent.

● Turn off read notices  ● Turn off send notices

Once the MyLiveWall device is registered and configured online, the WALL unit can be turned on and brought online by using the QR Code associated with the newly registered device. This QR Code will pair the WALL unit with the WiFi available in the location of the device.. To complete the WALL setup and bring it to an active status, do the following:

1. Use a smartphone or laptop to navigate to the online QR Code associated with your newly registered WALL unit. This is available at the MyLiveWall website at:

○ https://www.mylivewall.net/ ○ Select Management off of the left side menu ○ Select the Configure button next to WALL unit to activate ○ Select QR Code tab at the top of the screen

2. Plug in the MyLiveWall WALL device. 3. Once the WALL unit completes booting up, it will display the WALL template screen. 4. Press the BLUE and RED buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. 5. The WALL unit will display a message saying “To setup your new LiveWall, please visit

MyLiveWall.net”. If you haven’t already registered and completed the online configuration at this point, please do so. If you have completed the online configuration, hit the button associated with CONTINUE (BLUE button).

6. The following screen will inform you to place your smartphone (or laptop) with the QR Code visible (form step 1) under the QR Code reader located at the bottom of the WALL unit (see figure 1 at the beginning of the user manual).

7. Press the BLUE button associated with CONTINUE. 8. You may need to line up the smartphone and the QR Code reader until the reader can

see the complete QR Code. 9. Once the QR Code is successfully read, it will display a message to reboot the WALL

There are a number of online tools (https://www.mylivewall.net/) that allow you to ensure that you and your loved one are getting the most out of your MyLiveWall unit.  Send Message A thoughtful and easy way to include your loved one in your daily life is to send regular messages. These messages can include photos and can be sent from any person authorized by the person who set up the device.  Mainscreen This tool enables you to see a snapshot of your loved one’s MyLiveWall unit.  History You can view a history of the last 30 days of messages/photos sent to the WALL unit. You can also remove messages and associated photos from this tool.  Activity With the motion sensor, it is possible to see how active your loved one is in the vicinity of the WALL unit. Sometimes this is helpful in determining their habits. For instance, if it is placed in the kitchen area, it is possible to ensure they a loved one is at least going in the kitchen 3 times a day (it cannot determine they are actually eating, only movement).  Invite Others The Invite Others feature is a wonderful way to include family and friends in the care and support of a loved one. Once their email address is entered, an invitation will be sent to them with details of how to set up an account so that they can send messages and photos.
