NBA All Star Paul Georges talkes about the importance of reading

Growing up in South California with alot of gangs around it was easy for me to get distracted and jump into that life that some of my friends did. I choose the opposite route of reading and going to school. Yea I am good at basketball now, but who would have known that when I was in third and fourth grade. My parents stress school rst before anything, no homework done and bad grades mean NO BASKETBALL in my family and I learned that out the hard way at rst. in 5th grade I had to miss the whole basketball season because I got a D in Math and my mother would not let me play on the team, that was my punishment. From then on I knew the importnace of reading and how it would help me be a better person later on in life. So i stress to kids everyday school rst basketball second, basketball and the NBA is not going anywhere so buckle down on your school work now before you get lost.

e Indiana Pacers have organized a prgram called Read Like a PRO, where the whole team goes around the city of indianpolis and goes to di rent elementary schools and help them read and get a chance to meet e Indi-ana Pacers.
