Using Presentations to Teach

•It is best to list no more than four points on a slide.

It is best to have each point enter separately.

The TOOLBAR

•This icon is the most important one you’ll use right away. It is called the inspector.

Page 6: Summer Workshop For Macs Keynote1

Open The Inspector

• The arrow is pointing to document settings. It looks like a piece of paper.

It allows you to set up details in your show. I never even use this because the default

settings are fine. You may need to use it to set music to the background of a

slide show because there is an audio option under this

heading.

The next icon in the inspector looks like a

frame.• You will use this button often

because it allows you transition between slides.

The transition I am going to use here is called reflection.

The next icon in the inspector is shaped like a diamond with

motion lines.

•This is the “Build” button. You can make your words or pictures build in or build out! I am going to build the word Dixie using my

favorite build “Sparkle”!

The next button in the inspector is the

Text button & it looks like a “T”.

•I use this button to help center text on

the page, create columns and use bullets.

The next button in the inspector is

the graphic button. It looks like a circle in

front of a square.

• This button is used to fill the text box with a background color & create a border.
