PE and Sport Summer ConferenceCourse Information

We are delighted to be able to bring you our first PE and Sport Summer conference. The conference has workshops that cover the following PE and Sport subject areas: A-Level PE (AQA), BTEC Sport and GCSE PE (Edexcel).

The one day conference will bring you fully up to date with the latest developments in each subject area. The content will show delegates how to ensure that they are running high quality programmes and allows delegates to select workshops from different subject areas or to stay with one subject area for the full day. Each subject area has four distinct workshops that focus on key areas within each subject. Teachers will develop their knowledge, skills and confidence and

will have opportunities to collect information and ask questions.

Supporting learners to achieve distinction grade criteria in BTEC Sport

Course Information

This is a brand full-day training course that will equip delegates to support learners to achieve distinction grade criteria in BTEC Sport. The course will instill confidence and an understanding of exactly what is required to ensure that learners are able to carry out distinction tasks and attain the top grade in this qualification.The course will focus on Level 2 criteria from Units 1 and 2.The training programme will show delegates how to develop and use their higher order thinking skills to achieve distinction criteria. Teachers will develop their knowledge, skills and confidence and will have opportunities to collect information and ask questions.

Getting ready for Level 2 BTEC Sport 2012Course Information

This new and informative course will thoroughly prepare delegates to deliver the new BTEC Sport specification to be implemented from September 2012 in Wales. The course will ensure that delegates feel confident to implement the changes and maintain or enhance learner grades in their centre.

The one day training programme will bring you fully up to date with the new BTEC Level 2 First Qualifications. Introduction to BTEC First (All Subjects)Course Information

Introducing an innovative course for centres and/or staff that are new to or still developing BTEC First courses. Subjects and staff that may benefit from this course include: Travel & Tourism, Health and Social Care, Art and Design, Music, Media, ICT and Business, though this list is not exhaustive.

This course will bring you fully up to date with the BTEC First Qualifications (2010 specifications). The full day training programme will involve practical ideas for use in the classroom, review the basics of the BTEC and will support centres in the development of their Internal Verification process. A fantastic training course delivered by Carl Atherton, a vastly experienced teacher and author. This superb online programme will look at two major topics from the AS level and A level specification and give ideas and downloadable resources to help you deliver the content in an engaging way. The course is suitable for teachers either new to the skill and psychology sections of the specification or those looking for some ideas and resources to help pep up existing ideas

This is a brand new and informative course that will thoroughly prepare delegates to deliver the BTEC Level 2 qualification in Art and Design. Role of the Quality Nominee - Made Easy!

Course Information

Introducing a new course especially designed to support the Quality Nominee in their new role. As the main point of contact for the awarding body, the QN responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring the assessment and verification processes are effective in your centre• Your nominated Lead Internal Verifiers for each principal subject area are familiar with awarding body approval conditions and policy requirements• Standards Verification is completed successfully• Preparation and management of the Quality

Review and Development meeting.

This course will guarantee that Quality Nominee’s are fully aware of the expectations of their role and responsibilities.

There will be an opportunity for delegates to produce:

• BTEC Programme Manual• Student Handbook• Staff Handbook for your own
