SouthArk CFWD, Room 105 Fee: $1,500/student The CompTIA Network+ Certification is the sign of a competent networking professional. It is an

international, vendor-neutral certification that proves a technician's competency in managing, maintaining,

troubleshooting, installing and configuring basic network infrastructure. The CompTIA Network+ Certification

is an international industry credential that validates the knowledge of networking professionals. This course

teaches the fundamentals of networking and prepares students for the Network+ certification exam. Through

hands-on training and exercises students learn the vendor-independent skills and concepts necessary for all

networking professionals. In order to be certified in the latest version of CompTIA Network+, students have to

pass exam N10-005: Network+ Certification. The exam addresses the latest skills needed by technicians, such

as basic principles on how to secure a network. The exam covers network technologies, media and topologies,

devices, management, tools and security. Although not a prerequisite, it is recommended that CompTIA

Network+ candidates have at least nine months of experience in network support or administration or academic

training, along with a CompTIA A+ Certification.

SAFETY & SKILLS TRAINING

BASIC OPERATOR ORIENTATION TRAINING BOOT Camp will offer an introduction to what process technology is like utilizing the H.O.T. unit (Hands on Trainer). Each course is limited to 15 students and advance registration is required. Students successfully completing the course will receive a certificate. Course fee is $150/student. BOOT camp is led by Bennie Adams.

C-STOP (Contractor Safety Training Orientation Program) Instructor: Varies SouthArk CFWD, Room 134 Fee: $50/student The C-Stop program meets a significant portion of the OSHA mandated contractor requirements. This increases safety-training efficiency for the contract employee due to a reduction in redundant information being presented. However, the C-Stop program is not meant to relieve contract companies of all training responsibilities. There are elements of the standards that require the contractor to provide employer specific information regarding policy and procedures as well as some hands on training on specific equipment. All subjects are covered at the orientation level. Contractors are required to take this training to receive a C-STOP badge to enter the plants of Lion Oil, Chemtura, El Dorado Chemical, DuPont, Albemarle, Entegra, Clean Harbors, Tetra, Georgia Pacific. These companies also accept similar contractor safety orientation programs such as Basic Orientation Plus recognized by the Association of Reciprocal Safety Council within the past 12 months. The site-specific training for some of these plants is also offered. Two day advance registration is required or a late registration fee is charged. Check-in and photos are taken starting at 8:30 a.m. and classes begin at 9:00 a.m. Registration deadline is 2 business days prior to the class date. This is a ONE DAY course offered on the following days:

Upon completion of the lecture and field training your personnel will be ready to read and completely document their readings in a defensible format.

GENERAL INFORMATION -Arrive 20 - 30 minutes early for registration. -The field certification takes place outdoors and takes place whether rain or shine. As long as the visibility is greater than three (3) miles, and there is no lightning, the field runs continue. Poor visibility and lightning usually pass within an hour or two, and the field runs can resume. -Good long-distance vision is required for field certification. Students are advised to remember that whatever eyeglasses or sunglasses (prescription or nonprescription) you wear during the certification test are REQUIRED every time you actually do VE readings. FIRST AID/ CPR/ AED This course is AVAILABLE ON DEMAND Instructor: Scotty Points Fee: $49/person This course gives individuals the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide basic care for breathing, cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses, including how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) for victims of sudden cardiac arrest, until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. Osman Latino A native of Nicaragua, Latino holds a Bachelor of Foreign Language in English with a concentration in Interpretation, Education, and Translation from the National A. University of Nicaragua. He has 9 years experience interpreting for various organizations including the Baptist Medical Missions of America and Friends of San Juan de Oriente in Sacramento. Latino currently resides in El Dorado where he serves as a part-time adjunct Spanish Instructor for SouthArk.

When we cancel: Classes will be cancelled if a minimum number of full-paying students have not registered by the registration deadline. Early registration helps eliminate the disappointment of course cancellations. Full refunds are given for any classes that we cancel.

When you cancel: The Office of Corporate and Community Education will refund your registration fee if you cancel up to 5 business days before the class begins. If you cancel less than 5 business days before the class, you will be charged the full amount for the class. Another person may attend in your place when a refund is not allowed. Some seminars, workshops, camps, etc. will have separate cancellation policies. Please inquire about these before registering.

Senior Discount Policy: Senior citizens are required to pay full price for all non-credit courses unless otherwise indicated.

TRAINING CONSORTIUM

The purpose of SAWTEC is to create and coordinate a formal system to carry out a cooperative program designed to meet the common training/education needs of members by determining those needs on a regular basis, planning training curriculum, setting training schedules, selecting training providers, and determining fees. All businesses or industries in the South Arkansas region are eligible to apply for membership in SAWTEC. To maintain membership, a business or industry must contribute annual dues or a prorated amount of dues for that

part of the initial fiscal year of membership. Membership Levels

CORPORATE Annual Dues: $500 Benefits of corporate membership include a $100 training credit, access to qualified consortium classes discounted by grants, and a 20% SAWTEC discount on eligible SouthArk classes.

BUSINESS Annual Dues: $250 Benefits of business membership include a $50 training credit, access to qualified consortium classes discounted by grants, and a 15% SAWTEC discount on eligible SouthArk classes.
