Spring Agora Rhein Neckar 2013 MANNHEIM, GERMANY
EUROPEAN STUDY & CAREER FAIR
EUROPEAN STUDENTS’ FORUM
PROGRAMMEINFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
THE MINISTER-PRESIDENT OF THE STATE OF BADEN-WÜRTTEMBERG
Words of Welcome
First of all I would like to give a warm welcome to all participants of the Spring Agora Rhein-Neckar which is taking place in Mannheim. I am very delighted to be a patron of the congress.
More than 800 students from all over Europe will be able not only to deal with internal is-sues of the association but also to make new friends. As Europe’s largest cross-faculty stu-dent network, AEGEE has been putting the vision of a unified Europe into reality since 1985, even beyond the borders of the EU.
The main emphasis of the Spring Agora Rhein-Neckar will be the “European Year of Citizens 2013” which was proclaimed by the European Union. I fully support this decision. Thus AE-GEE does not only focus on the rights and ob-ligations of its citizens but also especially on their freedom. Freedom which they either al-ready possess or which is worth fighting for.
This motto clearly shows who or what con-stitutes the essence of Europe: it is the peo-ple who live and work peacefully next to each W

other. For the integration and solidarity of different cultures and languages it is indispen-sable that people come to-gether, irrespective of borders.
With numerous initiatives, workshops and events AEGEE is setting a great example. The organisation lives and promotes an understand-ing among nations and an intercultural dialog. It is great that young people not only show enthusiasm for the European idea but also make it a reality. They are the future of their countries and of Europe.
Organising a “Spring Agora” is hard work. Therefore, I thank eve-ry student who was actively and voluntarily involved in the process of organising and realising the Agora. I wish every guest in Man-nheim an exciting stay, as well as great and interesting conversa-tions and meetings, so that we can bring Europe closer together.
Winfried KretschmannMinister-President of the state of Baden-Württemberg
(translation from the German version)
Dear Participants of the European Study and Career Fair and AEGEE Fair,
it is already the 5th time that we are organ-ising this Fair to offer all kinds of opportu-nities to our members and other visitors.Student mobility and especially youth unemploy-ment is becoming a more and more pressing issue, so opportunities like these bringing together stu-dents with their prospective employers and renom-ated Higher Education Institutes become ever more important for students to find possibilities that fit their qualifications.
For the first time, the Study and Career Fair has been completely merged with the AEGEE Fair, bringing together formal Institu-tions and employers with AEGEE’s working groups and projects, where young Europeans can develop their skills informally. We hope that the new concept fulfills the need of all participants better.
In general, I hope that this Fair will inspire you for your future, open your eyes to possibilities and will possibly lead to new paths you can take in an international environment.
I wish you a fruitful event and an inspiring Agora.

EduCoach – Get your personal study advisor, online!
What if every potential student worldwide could have a personal advisor to explain the what, the why and the how on studying in Europe? What if they could personally meet current students, faculty, country experts and even companies from the study destination they are interested in? Starting in 2013 they will have the chance to do so – thanks to AEGEE and StudyPortals. All on www.mastersportal.eu.
AEGEE, StudyPortals and 7 other international partners are joining forces in the EU-funded project EduCoach. It will offer tailored personal advice to orienting students via interactive tools – all fully virtually. Text chat and voice-over IP communication tools will form the basis of the personal counselling tools. A webinar platform will provide a new channel to present relevant information, and a resource full of online articles will complete the tools to help anyone find the right study programme.
If you want to find out more about this project, check out the website educoach.org or contact Sissy from StudyPortals ([email protected]).
