STUDENT MANUAL

Dear Student,

Hughes Global Education welcomes you to the world of real time interactive onsite learning, through its pioneering effort in “Class Apart learning”

I would like to congratulate you for having made to such prestigious program. I also wish that your experience be one of great enrichment & immense help in building your career growth in a significant manner.

Hughes initiated the concept, may be well before its time in 2001- simply driven by its urge to move to the Consumers in India, after its resounding success in the corporate sector. From being literally thrown out of one of the premier campus in one of our early meetings, the Hughes version of “IOL” (

Interactive Onsite Learning) has really come of age today with more than 23,000 students from corporate, entrepreneurs, government functionaries and supporting a host of academicians, taking their knowledge & wisdom through length & breadth of the country.

This „Student Manual‟ has been designed to help you through the program delivery. We have a team of Relationship Executives who shall be your escalation contact in case of any issues or help that you may seek.

You may write to us at [email protected]

We may add that we are indeed using state of art technology that drives most of the mission critical applications in the country including Banking, Police networks, defense & aircraft control & command and many others. However, like any other technology, it is prone to fail & also being wireless, it does get affected by atmospheric conditions like rain etc. Though we do understand the need for redundancy at our classroom centers, cost considerations have dissuaded us- we wish to bring the education to you at the most economical level as possible.

We will keep you updated on a regular basis the various other initiatives from our end and seek your co-operation to make your experience a most memorable one.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me on [email protected] for any escalations you may have during the course of the study.

Wishing you all the very best in your career and happy learning,

Sincerely, Student Relationship Manager

STUDENT MANUAL

Hughes Global Education is a premier interactive onsite learning through satellite based education and

training service initiative by Hughes, for corporate and working professionals/ Students. It has live, interactive,

real-time, two way video, voice and data classes, and spread across 140 classrooms in 66 cities. Hughes

Global Education platform has redefined the next generation of education i.e. real-time Interactive Onsite

Learning (IOL). First of its kind in the country, started in 2001, this platform seamlessly integrates the

strengths of the traditional method of education -- classroom teaching -- with the latest in technology.

Several corporate customers have also used the Hughes Global Education service to train their dealers,

employees, customers and associates across the country. The heart of this Hughes service is a powerful

system that allows large numbers of geographically dispersed participants to have a highly interactive, 'one-

to-one' exchange with the faculty.

The system primarily works on wireless technology using satellite as the medium & Ku band space wave

transmission. Satellite based systems are designed to provide 99.96% uptime availability & is considered

most reliable medium for mission critical applications world over. However, due to laws of Physics, Ku band

does suffer from momentary interruptions during heavy rain at control center or at classroom. In an effort to

minimize cost to students, no redundancy is built in at the study center level. We request you to understand

that any technology is prone to failures- our sincere endeavor is to make it most effective with minimum

downtimes while keeping the costs low. Your understanding, appreciation & patience in this regard are

earnestly solicited as but for technology, we would not have been able to bring such an opportunity at your

door step.
