Research On Student Magazines

This is my research on existing student magazines.

Cover pages

Most of the main stories on the front covers are about lifestyle and saving money, these topics would be important to a student looking to save money. Most of the magazines are free, this would also help students to save money. The student magazines feature different types of people on the front cover of a student age, this would appeal to the target audience as they can relate to people in their own age group. Most of the students magazines have their cover lines around the main image on the cover to make the main image stand out aswell as the cover lines.

Contents pages

One of the magazine contents pages on the previous page is laid out like a folder with dividers in, I really like this idea as it would stand out to students, and I may use this idea for my contents page. There are also different types of pages to stand out to people studying different courses such as art, design and music. Also there is interviews the students who read these magazines may aspire to be like. Another thing the contents pages feature are ways on saving money, this would appeal to a student as often they are in debt or on a tight budget.
