I am particularly grateful to the editorial committee to produce a guidance book to polytechnic students in order to assist them to make a strategic planning on the selection of courses for each semester. The Student Guide is an overview to the programmes offered by Commerce Department. This Student Guide is a helpful information provided to students with synopsis of the courses, objectives or learning outcomes to be achieved at the end of the courses, Time Allocation Recommendation, Student Assessment, Student Learning Time and References. COMPUTER APPLICATION provides knowledge and skills to students relating to various types of computer systems and its application especially pertaining to hardware and software. This course also exposes students to different packages of software applications for word processor ,spreadsheet, project management, presentation and internet. BUSINESS RESEARCH exposes students to a basic understanding of a scientific research process. This course emphasizes selecting an appropriate research title, writing the proposal, producing, preparing and presenting the research result. At the end of the course, students should be able to use knowledge and skill to carry out scientific research, also analyzing the outputs of scientific research.
