Add “responsible to learn material” language back into the code
Discussion about “reasoned exception” being vague/undefined – left as is to match faculty contract language
Final statement:
“In the classroom, students are free to take reasoned exception to the data or views offered and to reserve judgment about matters of opinion, but they are responsible for learning the content of the course.”
Process Question
Questions about what happens when the Code goes to Cabinet Code review is a collaborative process and they
will receive the same information that AGC received
AGC has decision making authority over the academic components, Cabinet has purview over the rest
Provost/Deans are representatives of the voice of AGC at Cabinet and can support the decisions made by AGC if questioned
