Responsible for: Cabinet Executive Team Committee Chairs Senators Responsible to: Advisor(s) Student Life Coordinator Principal/Administration As the Student Senate's Presidents, you will be responsible to oversee and maintain the vision, planning, execution and evaluation of Student Senate activities as well as Cabinet morale and organization. Throughout the year it will be important for you and your co-President to provide leadership and motivation. Spring 2019 (following election to office) 1. Interview with the outgoing Co Presidents in order to understand the logistics and history of the position and

commitment of President. 2. Plan the FunFair and run it with Co-President and outgoing President and Co-President. 3. Get to know Teams and make sure you are invited to the Senate pages. 4. Meet with your advisor, the Student Life Coordinator, your Co President and each of the Cabinet members who will

meet with their committees to evaluate activities and to establish a game plan and start preparing for the upcoming summer and school year

5. Meet with your Co-President and the Cabinet as a whole to plan and prepare for the summer. 6. Set a date for summer Cabinet meetings and schedule Cabinet Advance (retreat) for all Cabinet members. Speak

with the SLC Chairman about combining the Cabinet Advance with the SLC Advance. 7. Make sure that you have all Cabinet members’ cellphone numbers, they have their senators’ numbers, and all know

how to use school email. 8. Register for Cabinet Honors Leadership Class. Summer 2019 1. Set meetings with the Cabinet to plan the vision and theme (if appropriate), activities, etc. for the coming year. By

the end of the summer the Cabinet will have come up with an anticipated plan for the entire school year.

When Cabinet members want to employ new ideas(s), help them to stay on track. 2. This is, however, not to say that things can't be added throughout the year. This yearlong plan is a plan of the big or

major activities for the year (Homecoming, HC Banquet, Fun Fair, regular community service activities). By the end of the summer (before Registration & New Student Orientation) work with the Secretary Officer to have a calendar of planned events for the year based on idea checklists turned in.

3. Familiarize yourself with the job descriptions of the various Cabinet members so that you can help them meet their expectations.

4. Walk through Business Office forms and procedures with the Financial Team and your Advisor. 5. Walk through Checklists and Activities forms with Cabinet Committee Chairs. 6. Prepare budget with the Financial Team. 7. Prepare for beginning of the year activities (Cabinet meetings with senators, new student buddies, Back to School

Day activities, etc.) 8. Have all ideas and budgets submitted to Teams by July 31. 9. Look through Idea Checklists, make comments and pass it on to your advisor. 10. Prepare comprehensive calendar for year based on Ideas Checklists. 11. Plan the first day of school event (BBQ, concert, movie night, whatever).

Fall & Winter 2019-20 1. Your role is largely a supervising and motivational role. You will be supervising the Cabinet members and their

committees, keeping them accountable to complete their activities and helping them do so. 2. Review checklists as they are passed through you to your advisor and back through Teams. Do this as quickly and

thoroughly as possible. 3. Plan and run Cabinet and Senate meetings. Prepare agendas in advance for the Cabinet & Senate meetings in

consultation with your co, your advisor, and the minutes from previous meetings. 4. Represent the Student Senate at school activities as requested by the administration. 5. Coordinate or help coordinate school related activities (New Student & Freshmen Orientation, 8th Grade Step up

Days, etc.) 6. Continue to be open to new activities and projects that will benefit the student body, screening them through the

appropriate channels, and assigning the right leader(s) to them if they are to be run by Senate. 7. Continually keep your eyes open for potential leaders for coming years. 8. Encourage and seek to uplift your Cabinet as they begin to tire. 9. Meet regularly with your advisor and occasionally with the Student Life Coordinator. 10. Work with the Co-President to share the responsibilities of overseeing and supervising the Cabinet & Senate. 11. Co-Presidents sit along with the other club and organization Presidents, on the Student Leadership Council and are

expected to attend regular SLC events. 12. Coordinate Candy Cane sales fundraiser right before Christmas & Valentine Sales around Valentine’s Day. 13. Give the morning announcements at assigned times. 14. Help set up and clean up and attend for all large events, but especially Homecoming Banquet, Winter Dance, and

Fun Fair which are all day and late night events. 15. Divide the Cabinet committees between you and your Co and make sure that you attend all of your committee’s

events, and ½ of the committee events that aren’t your own. 16. Attend Cabinet and Senate meetings, be prepared to discuss and present your area and to delegate tasks to your

senators and have academic readings, finished, etc. Spring 2020 1. Review your job description and make any changes as you see necessary. 2. Recruit potential replacements. 3. Interview candidates for your position in order to make a recommendation for the new Cabinet. 4. Create a binder and plan meetings to explain the history of CSCS Senate Presidency as well as the job description,

vision, responsibilities, etc. 5. Assist the Senate Advisor in directing the Cabinet nomination and selection process and with the Senate elections. 6. Plan the FunFair and run it with Co-President and incoming President and Co-President. 7. Work with your Co President to transition all responsibilities and the incoming Student Body Co Presidents 8. Attend the Student Leadership Awards in May with your senators. Words of Wisdom:

Reward your cabinet and senate with words of encouragement, breaks, snacks, etc.

Don’t try to take on excessive amounts of leadership in others (non Senate) areas.

Communicate daily with your Co Presidents and Advisor regarding each other’s activities and your chairmen’s activities.

Work to promote a positive working relationship between everyone on Cabinet. Make sure to keep your advisor aware of conflicts and bring him in when necessary.

Don’t try to do too much discipline, but work with your advisor on discipline issues, letting him take the lead.

Maintain and updating balance sheets. Documenting deposits. General Job Description: As the Student Senate's Financial Officer (Treasurer), you are responsible for the record, raising, and collection and distribution of Student Senate moneys and whatever other duties are assigned to you. Spring 2019 (following election to office): 1. Attend the transition meeting with the outgoing Treasurer to familiarize yourself with the procedures and duties of

the Treasurer's job. 2. Work with the Presidents to schedule meetings over the summer in preparation for the coming school year. 3. Work with the outgoing Financial Officer to provide change, collect money, count money, and deposit money at the

FunFair. 4. Register for Cabinet Honors Leadership Class. Summer 2019 1. Meet with the Cabinet and Senate through out the summer to plan and schedule upcoming events and to anticipate

budget needs for the coming year. 2. Keep a record of these finances and distribute that record to all Cabinet members and your advisor in an accurate

and prompt manner. 3. Meet with Your advisor and the appropriate personnel in the Business Office and review our financial procedures. 4. Determine a system of recording and displaying the financial records so that transactions are easily tracked and

understood. 5. Seek creative ways to raise money. Do some fundraisers yourself or help others do them. 6. Assist the Presidents and Advisor with the collection of funds for the Cabinet Advance and SLC Advance as needed. 7. Assist the Cabinet & senate in planning any fundraising. 8. Attend the Cabinet Advance. 9. Be familiar with the previous year’s money spent by committee in order to advise committees on how much they

may expect to spend if doing similar amounts. Fall & Winter 2019-20 1. Meet with the Cabinet and Senate at all of their meetings. Keep a record of financial actions taken by the Senate.

Distribute monthly financial statements to the Co-Presidents, Your advisor, and Mr. Young by the 2nd week of the month. After each major event (New Student Orientation, Homecoming, etc.) prepare a report of income and expenses and final numbers.

2. Prepare a money box with seed money and counting forms for all ticket sales and fundraisers, you will often do this by ordering seed money a week before events.

3. Make deposits for each event by the end of the next school day. 4. Record all income in the Balance Sheet on Teams and work with the Accounts Payable Officer to maintain the

balance sheet on Teams and paper records of all financial dealings. 5. Work with other Cabinet members to make purchases (in store or online). 6. Be available to set up and turn over money boxes for tailgating parties, ticket sales, dress down days, etc. 7. Be available to assist in selling tickets and collecting money. 8. Be available to assist other Treasurers with financial policies. 9. Be available and willing to help with filing or other activities that are requested of you. 10. Student Cabinet & Senate communication General Job Expectations As the Student Senate's Communications Officer, you are responsible for the record of Student Senate events as well as communicating with the Administrations and schools in the system regarding upcoming Senate events. 1. Keeping minutes of Cabinet & Senate meetings and SLC minutes if you agree to the Student Leadership Council

Secretary. 2. Working with Cabinet members, other Stu Act secretaries and advisors, and Mrs. Hacker to keep the Senate page

calendar, Student Life Calendar in the Commons Office, on the Teams homepage, and on the all school calendars updated with Student Life events.

3. Assist the Public Relations committee in publicizing events 4. Assist the Presidents in their duties. 5. Work with other Student Life secretaries 6. Work with or all Student Life secretaries to keep all Student Life calendars (online & in Commons) up to date. Spring 2019 (following election to office): 1. Self Social Events Committee members The general Social Events of the student body.

General Job Description: As the Student Senate Social Events Chairman, you are responsible to come up with and carry out activities that will encourage the Student Body and to create a friendly and welcoming culture at CSCS. This committee is essentially responsible for CSCS high school students’ enjoyment and unique high school experiences. The expectation of success requires your creativity, there are a few traditions and recommendations, and the success of this position really depends on your initiative, motivation and follows up Spring 2019: 1. Interview with the outgoing Social Events Chairman and committee in order to become familiar with traditional

Social Events activities and various ideas and procedures. 2. Meet with your committee to determine a plan of action for the summer and following school year. 3. Create a short list of activities and ideas with which you can encourage the Student Body and Student Senate over

the next year. 4. Meet with your committee to evaluate the past year's activities and which of those activities are worthy traditions

to continue or to eliminate. 5. Register for Cabinet Honors Leadership Class.

Summer 2019 1. One of the most critical activities the Social Events Committee runs is to Match New Students and buddies

throughout the summer so that most are matched up by Registration and New Student Orientation in early August. 2. Meet with your committee to come with activities for the coming year that will encourage all of the student body. 3. Meet with the Cabinet on a regular basis to come up with the year's theme and activities. 4. Create Checklists, budget, and fundraisers for the activities you've planned. 5. Begin to welcome new students and freshmen and prepare for the New Student Welcoming activities before school

year starts. Specifically focus on New Student Buddies. 6. Attend the Cabinet Advance. Fall & Winter 2019-20 1. Contact the Public Relations Committee two weeks before each activity as is appropriate. Assist them as much as

possible in advertising your event. 2. Complete 1 month, 2 weeks, and 1-week checklist on all activities. 3. Evaluate each activity with your committee and turn in a written evaluation 1 week after your event is finished. 4. Continue to be open to new activities and innovated ideas that can be used to encourage the Student Body and

Student Senate. 5. Keep aware of the morale and general mood of the Student Body. 6. Plan and carry out activities that welcome new students to CSCS. Do everything possible yourself and with your

committee to make new students feel comfortable and welcome. 7. Plan and carry out spirit week(s) in coordination with the Banquets & Dances Coordinator. 8. Plan and carry out Homecoming Spirit Week and assist with other Homecoming Activities coordinating these efforts

including spirit days, object runs, tracking and publicity points on a daily basis, etc. 9. Plan and carry out other all school activities (e.g. lock in, bonfires, etc.) and activities that appeal to various groups

within the school (ski trip, bowling, bonfire, etc.). 10. Plan swing dance or other dance lessons a time or two before and between dances. 11. Conduct smaller monthly activities targeting various population groups in the student body possibly in coordination

with other classes, clubs, or ministries in the Student Life Department. 12. Help set up and clean up and attend for all large events, but especially Homecoming Banquet, Winter Dance, and

The job of the Public Relations Chairmen and his/her team is basically to generate excitement for the events and activities that the Student Senate produces.
