According to the latest WHO data published in April 2011 stroke is still the third leading cause of death worldwide. It can happen to anyone at any time and can lead to lifetime disability or in the worst case, death. We have the medical tools and medicines for treating and preventing stroke but what is I’m disappointed about is the lack of information and knowledge of the people how dangerous the stroke is. A recent study in the stroke found that one in five women could not identify stroke symptoms. Yet it kills twice as many women each year as breast cancer. Other surveys have found that men are also uneducated about stroke symptoms. That is why we should have the enough information about stroke to save lives and prevent disability. We need to start treating stroke the same way we treat heart attacks. We must fight it with urgency and awareness. The information in the article is well planned and explained by the writer. Because first he presents the problem by stating what is a stroke and the effect of it to a person. He gathers enough data to persuade the reader to understand what is he trying to inform them and gives him positive reactions. He also does some research about the stroke by reading surveys and interviews to present evidence that stroke is not just a normal disease. And in the end he gives a solution to the problem by giving simple instructions on how to identify stroke symptoms. Sources: Philippine Daily Inquirer
