  • IntroductionStress and Stress management have received adequateattention in the recent past. There are large numbersof Publications available in the Subject of Stressmanagement. There are Social, Religious andProfessional institutions engaged in the area of Stressmanagement with the sole intention to reduce thelevel of the effects of stress among the people inspecific and among the working force in Particular. Inspite of all the efforts taken to reduce the stressfullife, it is amply clear that stress do exist among theworking population with no exception to the WomenEmployees. In order to assess the level of stressamong the supervisory level women employees inthe Private sector organizations a PILOT study wasconducted and it gets reported in this research study.MethodologyThe research conducted is of descriptive andanalytical nature adopting Random Sampling Method.The sample size is of 230 supervisory level (Middlelevel Management) women employees in PrivateSector undertakings. The incorporated Private Ltdcompanies and Public Ltd., Companies having variedactivities were considered as private sector in thisstudy. The sample covered is exclusively Middle Agewomen having the age group of 30 to 50 years. Theyare exclusively the residence of the urban areas of theThane District covered under the geographicaljurisdiction of the different Municipal corporationsin the District. All the respondents are married andlive in nuclear family system. The Primary data iscollected by floating the structured questionnairetaken from TERRY FRANSWORTH model focusedto study the stress level of executives.The datacollected were organized and tabulated for facilitating

    A B S T R A C T

    Time and again the importance of stress management became the part of management deliberation.Much has been talked and less is found to be practiced in the area of stress management. Even todaywith all the positive ideas to reduce the stress, the middle aged supervisory level women employeessuffer from stress which signals for immediate stress remedial actions to be initiated by management.

This studyis indicative in nature.Organisation of Data and AnalysisThe collected data with the help of structuredquestionnaire could be organized and tabulated soas to assess the level of strain of the Respondents.The given table indicates the different factors probeinto to find out the level of stress among theRespondents. For easy understanding of the level ofstress the Table incorporates level of Stress inPercentage which gets indicated in bracket in thegiven table.FindingsIn all twenty factors in the form of questions wasposed to the Respondents covered in the study. Thestudy reveals:1.There exists high level of stress to the extent of32.06% among the respondent. 2.There existssparingly indicated stress among the Respondentsto the extent of 39.34%. This can lead to the positionof high level stress if not remedial steps taken.3.Thelevel of stress is very low without indicating anyalarm to the extent of 28.06%. Here the level of stressis not Zero level but considerably of low level.ConclusionThere exists high level of stress among the middleaged supervisory level women working in the privatesector organizations residing in the urban area ofThane District- Maharashtra. As this study isindicative in nature the findings can be held as arepresentative study of the similar women employeesin other urban geographical areas in the state of
