Will you choose to study abroad if possible? Why or why not?

In recent years, studying abroad is very popular. More and

more people go abroad in order to studying. Some people thi

nk that it is not necessary. So they think that the knowledge i

n motherland are enough. However, other people are against

studying abroad. Because what they think it is helpful to imp

rove themselves in learning and working. In my opinion, it is

beneficially. First, it provides many chances for people who

want to make progresses; second, it is meaningful experience.

People who went abroad can learn much different cultures,

Strategy 1. Use advanced words and phrases

1. He is a famous writer.

2. At weekends, we have a lot of homework to do.

Strategy 2. Use varieties of sentence patterns

1. Use “with”

(1) I saw a young lady walking slowly in the street________________________手里拿着手提包with a handbag in her hand.

(2) They learnt a lot of other countries’ cultures. They also had a better understanding of their own culture.

They learnt a lot of other countries’ cultures with a better understanding of their own culture.

2. Use emphasis ( 强调 )

(1) 是 tom 帮助了那个老人。

(3) 强调谓语I do hope you can come if possible.

It was Tom who/that helped the old man.

It is not quantity but quality that matters.

It is quality rather than quantity that counts.

(2) 不是你所说的而是你所做是重要的。It is not what you say but what you do that counts.

3. Use Inversion ( 倒装句型 )

(1) 只有用这种方法，我们才能迎接未来的挑战和机遇。

(2) 虽然他是个小孩，但他知道的很多。Child as/though he is, he knows a lot.

Only in this way will we be ready for the challenges and opportunities in the future.

4. Use Noun clause ( 名词性从句 ) (1) To his surprise, the little girl knew so many things.

(2) 60% people hold the opposite opinion. They think studying abroad is unnecessary.

5. Use Attributive clause( 定语从句 )

(1) Half of people support the idea. People think they can experience colorful

cultures and customs in the foreign countries.

(2)There is no better opportunity to improve foreign language skills than living in the country in which it is spoken.

6. Use Adverbial clause ( 状语从句 )(1) 一到机场，他就受到了热烈的欢迎。a. As soon as he arrived at the airport, he received

In recent years, studying abroad is very popular. People have taken different attitudes towards it. Some people are in favor of it. They believe studying abroad gives them better surroundings to learn foreign language. Besides, by making friends with people from different backgrounds, they can broaden their views and experience colorful cultures even with a better understanding of their own culture. Most importantly, They will have to face everything and learn to handle every difficulty alone. That will be beneficial to their growth.

However, there are still many people who are against it. They argue that, for one thing, studying abroad is too expensive and therefore doesn’t pay off. For another, being far away from their home country, they may feel lonely and homesick

Personally, I think it is unnecessary to study abroad. I believe not everyone can afford the high expense. Furthermore, it is not the place where we study but what we learn that is of great importance. No matter where we are, we can achieve our goals, as long as we work hard.
