WHAT IS A STRATEGIC LIFE PLAN?

Your Strategic Life Plan is like a business plan for your life. It is the guide that you will use to fulfill your purpose, see your vision come to fruition and accomplish your life goals. It is a dynamic document and one that should be reviewed every day. It is a personal document and one that should not be taken lightly or shared frivolously. This process may take hours, days, weeks and for some years to complete. It is our hope that this system will guide you in the right direction and enable you to complete your Strategic Life Plan sooner rather than later.

THE STRATEGIC LIFE PLAN SYSTEM

The Strategic Life Plan System comprises of five major components:

1. Assessment

2. Ingredients

3. Goals

4. Lifestyle

5. Compass

The Assessment phase is where you take stock where you are in life. What have you achieved? What experiences have you had? Your strengths, roles, core values, purpose statement and vision are the basic building blocks (Ingredients) of your Strategic Life Plan. Based on your Assessment what are your Ingredients? Now that you know what Ingredients you have to work with, what Goals do you want to accomplish in your lifetime? What Goals are you now compelled to accomplish? The Goals phase is where you not just create a to-do list but an action plan for how to accomplish your Goals. The Lifestyle phase is where you determine the lifestyle habits you will adopt so that you will stay on track with your Strategic Life Plan. Your Compass is your manifesto. It is the executive summary of your Strategic Life Plan – it should be completed after everything else is done. Your Compass is the statement that you read to remind

you why you’re doing what you’re doing. It will help you determine whether or not a particular opportunity is right for you.

GATHER, PLAN, BUILD

Before you build you must plan. Before you plan you need to gather the information that you’ll need.

Gather Assessment Ingredients

Plan Goals

WISDOM GUIDELINES

Before you start working on your Strategic Life Plan, let’s warm up the brain by meditating on these wisdom guidelines.

He who knows not and knows not that he knows not, is a fool, shun him.

He who knows not and knows that he knows not, is ignorant, teach him.

He who knows and knows not that he knows, is asleep, wake him.

He who knows and knows that he knows, is wise, follow him.

- Persian Proverb

“Do what you can when you can and when you can do what you can.”

- Keno R. Mullings

“Don’t leave your purpose to find money – money is to help you accomplish your purpose”

– Unknown

“The resources you need are only visible when you look”

- Keno R. Mullings

“Don’t use time to make money – use money to make time”

COMPASS

The Compass is your Manifesto.

It is the executive summary of your Strategic Life Plan.

Complete it after everything else is done. It should feel organic. Commit it to memory.

IF YOU ARE NOT DOING YOUR STRATEGIC LIFE PLAN EVERYDAY, YOU EITHER HAVE THE WRONG PLAN OR AN OUT OF ORDER LIFE.
