Centrifugal Chopper PumpCentrifugal Chopper Pumps were invented in 1950, designed for the treatment of livestock slurry and the processing of waste from industrial plants. The development incorporated a knife system designed to allow pumps to handle fluids with higher solid content.

Today, numerous manufacturers provide Centrifugal Chopper Pumps to the agricultural market. Storth’s philosophy is to supply and fully support the most suitable pump for your application depending on material viscosity, horsepower availability, pressure and flow requirements. With this in mind Storth offer a range of pump options.

Nova ST100Storth have used their extensive knowledge and experience of slurry pumps to develop the Nova ST100. A split gearbox/pump housing design gives added security to the mechanical seal and makes the gearbox incredibly secure. Developed to suit farmers and medium size contractors, the Nova ST100 combines low power requirement with efficient performance.

Cri-Man 80 Series Partners from day one, Cri-Man offer one of the most aggressive chopping mechanisms in the market. The PTH80K and 80KK have twin chrome steel inlet blades which cut at a rate of 170 times per minute. Secondary chopping is conducted by the 380mm diameter impeller and reverse impeller housing. Installed by many of Storth’s large umbilical operators, the Cri-Man has proven itself both reliable and effective.

Bauer SX1000This is the most recent addition to the Storth stable due to its reputation for performance and reliability. A unique spiral draw chopping mechanism integral to the impeller, provides an initial chop followed by the secondary impeller to reverse impeller housing cut. The system provides a smooth and consistent power draw, couple this with the Austrian brand’s support and it is clear why so many users operate the SX Centrifugal Chopper Pump.

Hose ReelersLay Flat Hose is one of the largest economical outlays in the umbilical system. Its storage, transportation and management are the key elements in any umbilical system. Storth have developed a range of hose handling systems designed to facilitate the pumping of slurry from store to field in the most efficient way.

Fully galvanised as standard (including the powder coated side panels), the range offers machines to suit either farmer or contractor, starting with the 400m Farmer Bobbin Reeler up to the 2000m Trailed Reeler. Using a combination of Reelers on the front and back of the tractor enables one tractor to carry up to 3000m of hose.

Farmer Bobbin ReelerAvailable with carrying capacities from 400m through to 1000m, the Farmer Bobbin Reeler (FBR) can be mounted at the front or rear of a tractor, or in combination with a Farmer Twin Spreader Bar. Constructed around a robust 80mm box section frame, the FBR come with a standard female A-frame mounting. Reeler drive comes courtesy of a hydraulic drive motor and heavy duty 1” chain driven. Bobbin Reel dividers are available as an option for those who want to partition off specific hoses.

Contractor Bobbin ReelerHeavy Duty (HD) female A-frame with 3-point linkage mounting set the tone for the top of the range Contractor Bobbin Reelers. The cleverly engineered frame design ensures maximum stability and strength for the Bobbin and its heavy duty hydraulic gearbox drive. Carrying capacities of 600–1000m are available with 4”, 5” or 6” hose considered.

Lay Flat HoseThe Storth reputation is built on robust build quality and intuitive design, with these principles in mind, Snap-Tite was chosen as our Lay Flat Hose partner. The decision focused attention on premium grade polyurethane hose, manufactured of circular woven polyester fabric stocking completely encapsulated by polyurethane elastomer. This process is known as weave extrusion and gives numerous advantages over rubber.

Couple the technical properties with the Snap-Tite 10 year limited warranty and it becomes obvious why Storth chose both polyurethane and Snap-Tite.

Super-X Delivery HoseThis is manufactured specifically for Storth. Super-X in its distinctive red colouring, is made using unique construction methods and high grade PolyVinyl Chloride (PVC). Specifically designed to be durable, flexible and tolerant, Super-X achieves various technical benefits.

Dribble BarThe method of slurry application, in addition to dry matter, soil type and season, impacts the amount of nutrients available to the crop. Dribble Bars also known as band spreaders reduce the surface area of slurry exposed to the atmosphere lowering nutrient losses by as much as 5% in comparison to Spreader Bars (Fertiliser Manual, RB209).

Giving careful consideration to both operating costs and slurry potential Storth have developed a range of fully galvanised Dribble Bars to meet with the most demanding needs of the agricultural market.

Vertical Fold Dribble BarThe Vertical Fold Dribble Bar incorporates a close coupled central frame design giving narrow transport width as well as the strength to facilitate the optional piggy-back HD female A-frame.

Prior to delivery, slurry is processed by the NovaCut Macerator. This incorporates a simple Storth Lay Flat Hose designed stone trap. Prior to the Macerator, solid galvanised hose is used with the unique Super-X hose transporting slurry down to the ground hugging Lay Flat Hose.

Sequence Dribble BarAs the name suggests, the Sequence Dribble Bar uses an intuitive folding design enabling compact storage of wider dribble bars. This negates transportation height and width issues generally associated with dribble bars in excess of 8m. The Dribble Bar incorporates a Storth NovaCut Macerator, developed specifically to guarantee consistent distribution. Horizontal 50mm output holes are positioned in the Macerator’s base ensuring consistency despite potential input fluctuations. Super-X Hoses deliver the processed slurry to the field at ground level. Adjustable spring steel stabilisers assist with this process, limiting crop leaf contamination and placing slurry as close to the soil as possible.

Nurse TankMobile Nurse Tanks can be used for various reasons in the application and handling of slurry or digestate. Storth manufacture two sizes of tank, 65m3 and 100m3 which enable umbilical spreading where land is not traditionally accessible from the slurry or AD digestate store. Slurry is transported from the farm or the biogas source by road lorries or tankers and discharged into the Nurse Tank. The Tank acts as a buffer for the umbilical spreading system allowing continuous spreading between the tankers loads arriving at the site.
