Four Basic Steps

Step 1 - Dig the FoundationFor a freestandingwall, excavate atrench that is 12"deep and 22" wideto accommodate a6" depth of basematerial and thebase course.Compact the basematerial and levelwith a tamper.

Step 2 - Install the First CourseSet and level eachunit of the basecourse (with theAnchor Bar facingup) front-to-backand side-to-sideacross three-blocks.A string line may beused to align thebase units.

Allow for 6" of base material both in front and behind thebase course.

Step 3 - Add More CoursesWhen building suc-cessive courses,center the first blockon the two blocksdirectly below it.After installing thebase course, theAnchor Bar willneed to face downon each succeedingcourse.

Step 4 - Finish the InstallationPosition theUniversal Caps and adhere in placewith Super-StikTM

adhesive. Do notexceed a maximumheight of 4’ withoutconsulting anengineer.

Note: Maximumheight may be increased with unit infill, grout or post tension.

Cutting for an Adjustable Curve

Step 1 – Measure the GapLay out the blocks to create thedesired curve. Measure the gapformed between the blocks, as shown.

Step 2 – Cut the BlockUsing this measurement cut the backwing of the block. This cut will allowthe block to fit the curve. Wear protective equipment when cutting.

Step 1 - Base CoursePreparationPlace the units on the leveling pad sothere are no gaps between the blocks.To cut blocks for a curve refer to theinstructions above.

Step 2 - Successive CourseInstallationWhen building multiple courses on acurve, begin installation with a block in the middle of the curve, that iscentered on two blocks directly belowit. Build the wall from the center blockout, in both directions.

Step 3 - Finishing a CurveCut and place the Universal Caps to follow the contour of the curve. Adhere cap units in place with Super-StikTM adhesive. Wear protective equipment when cutting the Universal Caps.

Creating a Corner UnitSeparate the two split faces in themiddle. Using one face unit, split on both sides so a middle section of the block remains that is 10-1/2" in width. Wear protective equipment when splitting.

Step 1 - Establishing an Outside CornerPlace a Corner Unitin the corner withthe face of the blockexposed. Cut theends of a whole uniton one side, so theblock measures 14"in width. This blockwill be placed nextto the Corner Unit,on the corner.

Step 2 - AddMore CoursesAlternate thedirection of theCorner Unit as eachsucceeding courseis installed.

Step 1 - Establishing an Inside CornerUsing a Corner Unit,begin the installa-tion from the lowestpoint at grade andwork from thecorner out.

Step 2 - Add More CoursesAlternate thedirection of theCorner Units aseach consecutivecourse is installed.

Step 1 – Establishing the PillarLay the first fourPillar Units to createthe foundation andbase course of thepillar.

Step 2 - Add More CoursesStagger thedirection of eachadditional course asshown and secureeach block withSuper-StikTM

adhesive.

Step 3 - Universal CapSplit four UniversalCaps and centeredon the pillar asshown. Adhere inplace with Super-StikTM adhesive.

Optional - Coping CapPosition the copingcap so it is centeredon the pillar. Adherein place with Super-StikTM adhesive.

Creating a Pillar UnitSeparate the two split faces in themiddle. Using one face unit, measureand split at a 16" measurement onboth top and bottom sides. Wearprotective equipment when splitting.

Integration with a Classic 6® WallStoneHedge® easilyintegrates with anexisting Classic 6®

wall. Install theStoneHedge unitson top of the courseof Classic blocks,with the Anchor Barfacing down toaccommodateUniversal Caps.Adhere the first course of StoneHedge that is freestandingwith Super-StikTM adhesive.

SteppingCreate a Half UnitStoneHedge blockto end a course.Use Universal Caps to cap yourStoneHedge wall.

End Wall InstallationCreate an End Unitand place a wholeblock that has beencut to a 14" width,next to it. Alternateeach course with aHalf Unit as eachsucceeding courseis installed. SecureEnd Units withSuper-StikTM

adhesive.

Creating a Half UnitMark a score line on themiddle of the block and splitthe unit on both top and bottomsides, as shown. Wear protectiveequipment when splitting.

Creating a End UnitSeparate the two split faces inthe middle. Using one face unit,split on both sides so a middlesection of the block remains thatis 10-1/2" in width. Wear protec-tive equipment when splitting.
