Why.

 I I

  I

Beore joining the MSA BArch course this year one o the main inuential actorsto study here was the opportunity to be a teaching assistant. I believe I should beconsidered as I am a reliable student who can be trusted to commit to the hoursneeded in both semesters. Apart rom being dependable I am confdent that

I would be well received by a group o students as I am a clear communicator, approachable, helpul and engaging within a group dynamic.

I have accumulated a large experience o computer skills while studying my degreeand working in my year out placement, thereore I am amiliar with the majority opresentation, 2D and 3D CAD sotware. More importantly I am confdent that I wouldable to share with students useul tips, insightul shortcuts as well as encouragemore efcient use o sotware and improving work ow between dierent mediumswhile achieving an objective.

I place a huge importance in the presentation and graphic design o a project;

I would be able to help students develop their own personal style and strengthenthe delivery o their work through using the Adobe and other digital packagesavailable.

During my year out I have had a lot o time to develop and refne part o my designprocess which involves developing ideas while sketching reehand, ollowed by 2Ddrawings, modelling the drawings into 3D, rendering and fnally use collagetechniques in photoshop to create a conceptual or photorealistic eel. As well asdramatically improving the presentation o a project at degree level these are alsoessential skills that students can carry through to proessional experience.

Thank you or reading my application.I hope you enjoy my CV with some visual examples o my work.

Education.

BA(Hons) ArchitectureUniversity of Westminster

2:1

Beore studying at MSA I obtained my degree at the

University o Westminster.

I developed several interests in architecture, as wellas improving my design and communication skills.

I took an elective module on interior design and digital

representation to develop and gain a urther under-

standing in the inuence design has on the relation-

ship between people and the inhabited space. As a

result I place a great importance when designing in

the consequential spatial qualities and how a project

is articulated digitally.

For my third year extended essay I based my research

on cybernetics, particularly ollowing the works oGordon Pask and projects rom Cedric Price such as

the Fun Palace.

In my design studio modules I always maintained an

average higher than 60 throughout duration o degree

course.

Grade higher than 70 in Computer Skills modules and

Technical Studies.

Work.

EPR Architects - Architectural Assistant(2009/2010)

While working at EPR Architects my team ocused on

two projects in particular that were at very dierent

stages and are between 40 – 100 million pounds in

value.

The frst was a sustainable project called ‘Evoasis’ in-

volving Electric Car Charging Stations that will be built

on various sites within London at the start o 2011.

Evoasis was at an early conceptual stage and I was

actively involved in the design process, responsible or

several atmospheric visualisations o several potential

sites throughout London. I was required to do exten-

sive 3D visualisation work involving 3D Studio Max and

Photoshop in particular.

The second project I was involved with is the Minis-

tries o Finance, Kuwait – a large redevelopment o theexisting complex, an overhaul and extension at Stage

D. I was heavily involved within producing technical

drawings which range rom general design, technical

detailing o exterior cladding systems to reective ceil-

ing plans o all oors. This has enabled me to urther

develop an understanding and appreciation o how

details should be drawn to convey inormation clear-

ly, in the process it has strengthened and tested my

technical knowledge o how a building actually comes

together.

Edward Cullian Architects - Internship(2009)

My internship ocused around developing in 3D a

model o a extension or an existing school and also

constructing a physical model to be used in practice to

visually illustrate its impact on surrounding buildings.
