Statement of Principle on Human Resources-Policy
Introduction
As an independent, family-owned company wi th a long tradition we are acutely aware of the importance of social responsibility. This includes due care and responsibility for all of our employees worldwide. We are guided by our shared values of trust, quality, sustainability, responsibility and
integrity, as well as G&D's vision and mission. We have underlined our commitment to these values by participating in the UN Global Compact since 2010. Responsibility in the areas of human rights and labour standards is part of the ten principles which we are committed to by our participation. The
basis of our human resources strategy is to assure high quality of global leadership and to build on and invest into the excellent knowledge and motivation of our employees. All of our managers and human resources professionals are committed to protecting human rights and labour standards and to
treating our employees with dignity, fairness and respect, which is reflected in this statement of
principle.
1. The Mission of Human Resources at Giesecke & Devrient
We act as global strategic and operational partners for management and employees. We provide
advice on organizational development and support change processes within the Group. We ensure that the right employees are in the right place at the right time to provide a value-added contribution
for G&D. We facilitate targeted personal and professional development for our employees and managers, and aim to give them every opportunity to use their skills and abilities in a way that is mutually beneficial. We establish market-driven framework conditions and ensure efficient and
effective HR processes and policies.
We are responsible for the worldwide Executive Management. We foster outstanding leadership and
intercultural skill through need-based employee exchange programs across the Group and facilitate
Global Talent Management.
2. Giesecke & Devrient Employment Policy
Our employees are the key to the success of our business. Their commitment, knowledge, and skills
determine the quality of our products and services, and thus our success in the marketplace.
Our aim, at both national and international levels, is to be a responsible and reliable employer.
Fostering the commitment and satisfaction of our employees, ensuring a workplace free from
discrimination, and guaranteeing equal job opportunities for all employees are among our top
priorities.
Respect for every single employee is an integral part of our corporate culture and the basis of
motivation and loyalty. It is the key to winning the trust of our employees. Valuing every single employee and his/her individual situation is our basis for gaining the confidence of our staff. We place great importance on treating our employees fairly, responsibly, and on providing a challenging but
respectful working environment.
Our Employment policy follows a clear maxim: shaping the future together. To achieve this and to
sustain our global success in the future, we ensure continuous staff development and a uniform value-
and strength-based leadership culture.
We believe the long-term profitability of our company is a necessary part of a responsible employment
policy.
