BI like shopping online. You can sometimes buy really good jeans for £20. Or a designer sweater for £10. Sometimes I look for interesting T-shirts. Do I have any problems? Well, I do have problems when the things are not like the picture on the web page!Johnny V

CI like shopping on the internet. It is so easy. I sit at home and just click on the things I want. I’ve got an MP3 player and a camera from an online shop. I also buy a lot of books and DVDs. You can get any title you want. Problems? Sometimes I forget my password!Angela1212

DI never shop on the internet. It is not safe. I buy CDs from music shops, books at a bookshop, clothes at a clothes shop. That’s normal shopping to me. I can see the stuff and I know what I’m buying.jane M

October 31What an evening! There was a Halloween party at Nickʼs house. Just before I left home, Mum said, ʻCan you take Sam with you?ʼ Sam! My ten-year-old brother! ʻMum,ʼ I said, ʻThis is not a childrenʼs party. There are no games and sweets. We want to dance.ʼ But she didnʼt listen to me. So I went to the party with Sam in a Harry Potter costume! I wasnʼt happy! At Nickʼs, there was a totally beautiful girl called Diane. I wanted to dance with her but she … she talked to Sam! She thought he was cute! Then Diane came up to me and said: ʻYouʼve got a really intelligent brother. He wants to be a pilot just like me. We want to go to the Science Museum next weekend to look at the old aeroplanes. Would you like to come with us?ʼI opened my mouth and closed it again. Then I said, ʻYes.ʼSo, now Iʼve got a very strange date at the weekend. A date with a beautiful girl and my ten-year-old brother at the Science Museum! Iʼm reading Samʼs books on aeroplanes … Watch this space for more news next Monday.

ANSWER KEY AND TEACHING NOTESFind somebody whoYou can use this activity during your first lesson with a new group. Part 1: Make enough copies of the worksheet so that each student gets either part A or B of the activity. Distribute the worksheets so that you have an equal numbers of students with part A and part B of the worksheet. Ask your students to complete the task. Explain that in each row they should write down at least one name. Add that they should use the silhouettes at the bottom to draw the faces of the students whose names they are going to write down. They will need them in the second part of the activity.Part 2: Ask the students to sit down. Divide them into pairs, making sure that within each pair there is one Student A and one Student B. Ask them to introduce themselves and take turns talking about the people they have got to know in the first part of the activity. As Student A describes one person, Student B should look at the drawing and try to find this person in the classroom.
