Grade I.S.O ANSI Description Coating Materials

Medium to heavy Multi-coated Steel RC62A P10-P35 C6-C7 machining. Combines wear Cast Steel M15-M35 resistance to deformation High Alloy Steels at higher cutting speeds. A multi-purpose grade for use as the outboard insert for drills & rough boring.

RC54A P20-P45 C5-C6 Medium to extreme roughing Multi-coated Steel M20-M45 conditions in steel, high alloy Cast Steels steels & cast steels. High Alloy Steels Recommended for unstable set-ups where vibration is likely to occur. Suitable for roughing & interrupted cuts in boring; for inboard & outboard inserts in drills.

RC22A K05-K25 C2-C3 Excellent wear resistance. Multi-coated Cast iron M10-M25 For use at higher cutting speeds. Abrasive materials Primarily a grade for cast iron but also a supplementary grade to RC26A where greater abrasion resistance is required. Not for use on aluminium or its alloys.

R56 P15-P35 C6 Drilling and boring in steels. Uncoated Cast steels, Alloy steels M15-M35 Recommended for inboard Stainless steel insert of drills in stable Heat-resisting steels conditions. Alloyed Grey Iron Modular & Malleable cast iron

R54 P30-P50 C5 Roughing & interrupted cuts Uncoated Steels M30-M40 at lower cutting speeds. Cast Steels High toughness, high strength & resistance to mechanical shock. Recommended as the inboard insert on drills in unstable conditions.

R22 K10-K25 C2-C3 High resistance to wear Micrograin Cast Iron M10-M30 & good edge sharpness. uncoated non-ferrous materials Rough boring and drilling. Moderate cutting speeds Heat-resisting titanium alloys & high feeds. Recommended alloys & plastics for both inboard & outboard insert when drilling cast iron and non-ferrous materials.

R19 M10-M20 C1-C2 Good abrasion and shock Micrograin High nickel materials K15-K35 resistance. Recommended uncoated Tool steels for the drilling and boring of high nickel materials & tools steels at low to medium speeds & feeds. Suitable for both inboard & outboard inserts in drills.
