Leadership Foundations, like all FOCUS formation, addresses three aspects of an individual’s growth: Human, Intellectual, and Professional
– Human formation deals with both character formation—growth in the life of nature through a commitment to development of the virtues—and spiritual formation—growth in the life of grace through participation in prayer and the sacraments.

– Human formation deals with both character formation—growth in the life of nature through a commitment to development of the virtues—and spiritual formation—growth in the life of grace through participation in prayer and the sacraments.
– Intellectual formation helps the individual to acquire a solid formation in the teachings of the Catholic Church and Sacred Scripture while also developing a firmer understanding of both Christian and modern culture.

– Intellectual formation helps the individual to acquire a solid formation in the teachings of the Catholic Church and Sacred Scripture while also developing a firmer understanding of both Christian and modern culture.
– Professional formation covers those aspects of growth that help the missionary in the day to day activity of the apostolate from Mission Partner Development to evangelization and discipleship.
9
Leadership Foundations provides for three types of learning: Structured Learning, Mentored Learning, and Self Study. – Structured Learning takes place formally at New Staff Training
or other formal events.
– Mentored Learning takes place within Team Development, within Staff Mentorship, within Colleges at NST, and with one’s supervisor.
– Self Study takes place per the missionaries own initiative. The missionary will read a set of books and listen to audio lectures.
