“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you”. - Isaiah 60:1
“If you want to change the world start with yourself.” - Mahatma Gandhi
SPIPS has embarked into the new academic year very enthusiastically, I look forward to the numerous
opportunities, achievements and events to celebrate while solemnly acknowledging the contribution of these
events that make our college an extraordinarily special one. It is a special time for our new batch of students, a
time for new beginning encompassed with a lot of opportunities.
Our college began its journey with the vision 'Let Your Light Shine' and ever since its inception, it is
striving to educate young people not only to facilitate their own development but also for the development of
their homes, society and our country at large. We, at SPIPS are indeed determined to instill in our students the
proximity with God and the ability to recognize the Divinity in themselves and their fellow beings. Thus, we
respect the dignity and uniqueness of each individual. At the same time, our endeavor is to offer an integrated
and inclusive education that focuses on intellectual, cultural, social, aesthetic and spiritual growth of our
students, to make them compassionate and committed human beings.
It has been our institution's consistent endeavor to provide value based quality education to its students,
inculcate discipline in them as well as provide an opportunity for their overall personal development. We are
fortunate to have dedicated, committed and competent team of faculty members supported by motivated and
co-operative non-teaching staff, who incessantly work in this direction. Our college is steadfast in offering
various opportunities to its students to help them explore their talents and leadership skills. The college also
encourages a sense of social awareness in its students by offering them chances to participate in various
programmes of NSS, NCC, Swach Bharat Abhiyan etc…
SPIPS is like a close knit family. Here, we live, work, play and grow together as a family. We are confident
that working together for common goals will enrich experience of our life. So, let us make a pledge to live in
peace to promote humanity and fraternity.
Dear students, make use of every opportunity available at SPIPS and develop your
abilities and potential, and extend your horizon.
Let us strive together to work for fostering positive change in our society and
transforming our vision into a reality.
With Best Wishes & God's Blessings.

“The Lord the God will bless you in all your work and in all that you undertake.” Deuteronomy 15:10
My Dear Loving Children,
You might have come across the life story of Govind Jaiswal : A story from being a Rickshaw Puller's son to becoming an IAS.
“I am very sure that all the youngsters who are living in deprivation and facing consistent difficulties can accomplish anything and everything provided they have willpower and courage.” says Govind Jaiswal
Govind narrates his story saying that once, when he was an 11 years old boy, he went to play at his rich friend's house and just within a few minutes he was insulted and thrown out as he was the son of rickshaw-puller. His friend's father yelled at him, “How dare you come here and mix with my son, don't you know who you are and where you belong to?”
Insults and phrases like 'no matter how much you study, you will still be a rickshaw-puller's son', 'what is your worth', 'you can only take your father's business a bit further,' 'the maximum you can do is increase your father's one rickshaw to two or three through your initiation', were very common in his life.
Govind states firmly that, on the contrary, all these insults made his determination stronger and initiated in him an urge to discover as to how he can triumph over the notion of people. Inquisitively, he began asking people as to what he should do so that people start respecting him. During this process of inquisitiveness, one answer changed his direction of life. Someone told him that he would be respected, if he becomes an IAS officer. With this commenced a new chapter in Govind's life and his journey of earning respect saw a yearning dawn. He wowed to himself that he would do everything possible to fulfill his dream of 'earning respect'. He rigorously started
spending most of his time in studies. This also was not easy for him as he had to study with cotton jammed in his ears to stop the extreme clatter of printing machines and generators of his neighborhood.
The time passed by and after completion of his graduation, he was sent to Delhi for coaching with merely Rs. 40,000 that his father could arrange by selling his only remaining piece of land. Govind particularly ensured that his father's investment should not go in vain. Consequently, he studied 18 hours a day. He often skipped one or two meals a day in order to save money and practiced thoroughly. In the year 2006, 23 years old Govind ranked 48 amongst 474 successful candidates in the civil service exam. Unlike most of the toppers, it was his very first attempt.
Free Press 15.05.2018, Tuesday page 2 inscribed “Anyone who can understand my hardships and circumstances will realize that I had no other option. Neither could I go for a lower government jobs as they are mostly fixed nor could I start a business as I had no money for it. I went for the only option I was left with, WORK HARD” said Govind.
Today Govind Jaiswal is a respected IAS officer whose success story inspires and motivates thousands of youth across India.
My dear students, “Do not break down if someone looks down upon you and tries to show that you belong to a lower strata. Answer not by your words but by your actions because these people are ignorant about your worth and the potential you are blessed with. Do not waste your energy on worthless and insignificant things. There are many instances when Govind felt like hitting those negative people who were continuously insulting him, but he never lost his temper, instead he stood determined and used all his energy in pursuing his dreams. Truly, strong determination is a key to success.
May God bless you and fill you with fortitude,
Dr. Sr. Alice Thomas CMC

Strong Determination : A Key to Success

My first day at college had a great meaning to me. For many it can be the most daunting experience, but for me it was
rather different. As I stepped in the auditorium the faculty members started welcoming, with beaming smile.
Later days directed all of us towards a spiritual upliftment by starting the day with a morning assembly reciting prayers and
hymns followed by national anthem.
“ With men it is impossible but, with god all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)
With the coordination and cooperation of all the faculty and seniors, we were given ample opportunities in the college
through activities which help every individual for self-exploration.
“Discipline is the foundation of a successful and happy life.” - Dr. T. P. Chia
Yes, discipline is doing what needs to be done, even if you don't want it to do. Discipline needs to be appreciated at certain
levels. Discipline with professionalism is noticed in the attire of student as well as faculty. If excellence is a journey, then discipline
is the vehicle and regularity is the fuel. SPIPS embarks this journey with mandatory attendance.
By the end of daily lectures, starts the other half of learning where juniors interact seniors and exchange resourceful ideas
which enlightens the path of juniors. Teamwork and repo building is duly achieved during after college sports activities.
The day at SPIPS concludes with the give away of great leanings and stepping towards professional life.

SPIPS - A New Phase of Life
Just a beautiful phase of life ended, it was called school, a place where we learned values.
My school had always been the best guide to us since childhood.
Now, the next phase is our college life that would help us to develop our overall personality to achieve success in our life. The first day of my college was full of excitement, hope, vitality and
encouragement. On the day of orientation programme, we came to know about SPIPS - its culture, academics, discipline, staff and faculty members which made us happy to seek guidance from our seniors and mentors.
Thanks to the wonderful and amazing SPIPS family who has sheltered us under their valuable guidance and support. We were like bricks fallen apart to whom they are mending into a perfect building. United we stand, divided we fall. I am blessed to have such a dedicated faculty members and I am overwhelmed to see them contributing towards the growth of the students with such a great zeal and enthusiasm. I used to think, entering into the college would be stressful but SPIPS has made it so comfortable for us all.
We Freshers are glad to be a part SPIPS.

It was a new day in my life when I entered into the college with full of joy and excitement. I
saw many new faces wearing college uniform that made me remember of my school days. rdOn 3 July, 2018, it was the first day of my college life where I attended the Orientation Programme and
came to know about the discipline, the academics and the faculty and the staff members. I enjoyed a beautiful cultural program presented by our seniors.
From the very next day, regular classes started and I went to my classroom and met all my new friends and experienced faculty members. A Day with New Hopes ......
“College life is that part of the life that you are going to re-live in your memories till you
breathe. It is the best place to enjoy life happily...
Nothing else, can beat that… enjoy it friends.”
College days fill maximum colors in ones life's journey in the form of lessons. College life is beautiful because of the positive and hopeful atmosphere of the college campus. It is like a fountain of knowledge. My experience in college gave me a chance to sharpen my skills and is providing me with all the important survival tactics.
This college inspired me to think differently. The variety of events which are held in the college help the students to involve and participate, so that we may develop our skills. Various academic, literary, sports events and co-curricular events such as cultural, skit etc. Other than this there are NSS, NCC units which helps to inculcate a deep sense of service and responsibility towards the society.
Therefore, I believe that there is time and place for everything. It is called college. The importance of maintaining good and healthy relationship with seniors, batch mates, friends and the faculty is all what I am learning.

First day of my college holds paramount importance in my life. It was my dream to go to

excited about everything, like new friends, new professors, new class and many more.
When I cleared my XII class, I used to wonder that how would my college life be ? and what type of atmosphere I would get ? There was an Orientation Programme on the first day for all the freshers. Our Director Rev. Fr. Simon Raj and Principal, Dr. Sr. Alice Thomas, faculty members, staff members were very supportive and kind. We all were motivated to work hard and to be disciplined in our life to achieve success.
I had great experience at SPIPS, may it be the induction programme, the infrastructure or the library. It was altogether an inspirational day for me. Thus, SPIPS is the institute which inspired me to think differently. I am happy for my decision and I am PROUD TO BE A SPIPSIAN.

It fills my heart with great joy to share my experience of my first day at SPIPS .
I was very excited to join SPIPS. The moment I stepped in, I started feeling that, this is going to be my second home, as I was welcomed by the seniors and the professors followed by an Orientation Programme in which I came to know about SPIPS and its culture.
