Come and join us for The program will meet the needs of children from the

ages of 18 months - 3 years (Not potty trained); 3 years to 5 years (potty trained); and Kindergarten to

rising 1st grade students (students entering 2nd grade for the 2021-22 school year). The camp

program is from 9am-2pm. Before and After Care (BAC) is offered to enrolled campers from 7:00-

9:00am Before & After from 2:00-5:30pm for an additional fee. (Please fill out one form per child.)

The Summer Camp Fun program will be offered in one week sessions for eleven weeks. Each week

there will be a different fun theme, with activities and projects relating to the theme. The first week of

camp is May 24-28 and the last week is August 9-13. All camps except the second week, May 31-June

4, are offered Monday through Friday and include lunch time with lunch provided from home. The

second week of camp, May 31-June 4, is offered Tuesday through Friday as Monday , 5/31, is the

Memorial Day Holiday. The school is closed the week of July 5-9 and there will be no camp that week.

No refunds for non-attendance during the week.

All weeks of camp, except the VBS week described below, are offered as .

Vacation Bible School (VBS) week, date TBD, will feature “Knights of the North” theme.

All campers will gather in the School to participate in before camp activities.

At 9:30 children aged 3 and above will join in morning VBS, as presented by St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Teachers for this age group will remain with the students during VBS. Lunch for children aged 3 and above will be at 12:35 daily during the VBS week.

Children under 3 will remain with Staff assigned to the under 3 group in school. Younger campers will participate in Summer Camp Fun activities with lunch at 12:00.

After lunch, the students will have rest time and fun activities throughout the afternoon.

The school will pay the registration fee for VBS when students are attending camp.

For this week, if you are interested in only VBS (M-Th, 9:30-12:30), please contact St. Mark’s Episcopal Church at 281-545-1661 for the registration form and fee.

SMES Summer Camp Fun – 9:00AM - 2:00PM: The theme for each week of camp is as outlined below. You may choose two, three of five days per week. The Camp program includes: Theme Based Camp activities, craft projects, activity centers, exploration, recess and more. Lunch at 12:00 followed by rest time and theme based afternoon enrichment activities.

Before and After Care (BAC) – 7:00-9:00AM Before Care & 2:00-5:30PM After Care: The cost for the BAC is $35 per week per child. The BAC program includes: Pre- and/or post- camp activities, Camp activities, as listed above, Afternoon snack provided from home and theme based afternoon enrichment activities.

All Campers Need:

All campers require a ready to eat morning snack, and lunch, including a drink, provided from home each day.

Children attending BAC-After Care also need a ready to eat afternoon snack.

A cot will be assigned to each child for the summer. All children need a cot sheet (available at the front office for $10.00) and a small blanket for rest time. Rest time materials must fit in a 2-gal Ziploc bag. Crib sheets and Nap Mats are not allowed. For safety concerns, pillows and stuffed animals are not allowed.

We will be going outside every day, weather permitting. Sunscreen and bug spray, as appropriate for your child, should be applied at home each day. We will re-apply sunscreen and bug spray as provided by you, based on the signed permission slip included in your Camp registration packet. Please provide bug spray and sunscreen in a Ziploc bag with your child’s name on the outside.

Closed toe shoes are required for the playground. Sandals and flip-flops are not allowed.

Children in diapers or pull-ups are required to provide all diaper and pull-up supplies from home, including baby wipes and diaper cream. Please label all supplies with child’s name.

All campers should provide a spare change of clothes, including socks, shoes, and underwear.

Each camper should provide a box of tissues and a box of gallon Ziploc bags for school use. Each week will include activities that incorporate science, math, language, art and music.

Fridays will be FUN DAYS! On this day camp activities will focus on Sports, Songs, Special Activities, Bubbles, and MORE! Teachers will let parents know if students need Water Shoes, and Towels for Friday.

If you are currently registered at St. Mark’s School we will use the information on file. Please update any information as needed for summer. Students not currently attending St. Mark’s Episcopal School must have a complete Enrollment Packet and have the following forms on file at the school to attend Camp:

Descriptions of each Camp Week

Week One: May 24 – May 28: It’s “Pete the Cat” Week: We will be reading Pete the Cat books and

making fun Pete the Cat crafts all week long.

Week Two (Tuesday-Friday): June 1 – June 4: VBS Knights of the North: (for 3 years and up) plus

It’s a Treasure Hunt!: We will learn about treasure maps and buried treasured. *VBS dates are TBD.

If VBS is not this week, then the theme for the week VBS is scheduled will be switched to this week.

Week Three: June 7 – June 11: Little Chefs: We will be cooking up some fun food themed crafts as well

as some non-cooking recipes! Permission slips will be sent home for any edible creations this week.

Week Four: June 14 – June 18: Lego Mania!: Legos, Legos and more Legos. We will build with them. We

will paint with them. We will stamp with them. And the list goes on and on and on.

Week Five: June 21 – June 25: All Things Disney: We will read a different Disney story each day and

make Disney related crafts. It could be Mickey and friends or specific characters from favorite stories,

like Olaf from Frozen.

Week Six: June 28 – July 2: Creative Art Camp STEM Activities: Campers will explore creative art

projects with a twist. We will be dying fabric, painting with ice, melting crayons and other creative

colorful activities.

July 5 – July 9: No Camp – School is Closed

Week Seven: July 12 – July 16: Dinosaurs, They’re Back: We will learn about dinosaurs, fossils and

foot prints frozen in time. There might be a dinosaur dig happening, too.

Week Eight: July 19 – July 23: Let’s Go Camping: We will make tents and learn about ‘roughing it’ in

the woods. We will learn, in theory only, about camp fires. There might be a permission slip involving

s’mores this week! Shhh, it’s a surprise.

Week Nine: July 26 – July 30: Caped Crusaders and Friends: It is Super Hero week! We will make

capes and masks. We will read lots of stories and let our imaginations give us super strength.

Week Ten: August 2 – August 6: Bear Adventures: Polar bears, grizzly bears, koala bears and teddy

bears, we’ve got them all. We will learn about bears and make bear crafts. There will even be a teddy

bear tea party on Friday!

Week Eleven: August 9 – August 13: Beach Comber Bonanza: This week will be all things beach. Sand,

shells, jellyfish and more. We will learn about the beach, the things found on the beach and things near

the beach. Watch out, the tide is coming in!

August 16 – August 20: No Camp – Staff In-Service Week.

This is based on our first day and the first day of school for LCISD being August 23.
