St Luke’s CE Academy, ENDON ‘Helping Lights Shine For All’ Issue 2 – 10 th April Updates... Thank you to everyone who has been in touch and shared their exciting news or the activities they have been up to. The teachers have loved reading your emails and looking at the learning you are doing at home. We are so proud of you for persevering and staying motivated so stick with it and keep on sending your work or pictures. Don’t forget the home learning page is always being updated so keep checking for the different challenges being set. In school this week… Heigh ho, heigh ho, to have some fun we go, we'll keep on singing all day long, heigh ho, heigh ho. Miss Kate and Miss Micklewright set the children a digging challenge. They spent all of Wednesday and Thursday stripping out the weeds from the garden area to make it a nicer place for you to play when you return. We found over 12 tennis balls hidden among the shrubs and Millie from reception decided it was a great place to act out the story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’. Millie was the bear of course – very scary! Mrs Woodward bought some frogspawn into school and we watched them turn into tadpoles. They got so big, Mrs Woodward needed to return them to the local pond this weekend. If you live in Brown Edge keep a watch out for lots of little frogs! On Good Friday, the children decorated a hard-boiled egg then rolled it down our grassy bank to symbolise the stone from the tomb being rolled away. You too could hold an egg race in your back garden. Challenge yourself by adding in obstacles. That reminds me! A mass teddy bear hunt is under way around the world. Place a stuffed toy in your window to give other children a fun and safe activity while out walking. You could design a scene? E.g. a tea party. The hunt is inspired by this children’s book written by author Michael Rosen. Teddies have been spotted all around the world, including the United States. How many will you spot on your next walk?

    ‘Helping Lights Shine For All’

    Issue 2 – 10th April

Updates... Thank you to everyone who has been in touch and shared their exciting news or the activities they have been up to.

The teachers have loved reading your emails and looking at the learning you are doing at home. We are so proud of

you for persevering and staying motivated so stick with it and keep on sending your work or pictures. Don’t forget

the home learning page is always being updated so keep checking for the different challenges being set.

Place a stuffed toy in your window

to give other children a fun and safe activity while out walking. You could design a scene? E.g. a tea party. The

hunt is inspired by this children’s book written by author Michael Rosen. Teddies have been spotted all

around the world, including the United States. How many will you spot on your next walk?

  • Outside of school … We would like to hear from you and share some of your work or celebrations each week. Here are some of the things you have been up to at home so far …

Firstly, a big congratulations to Ruby and her family on the arrival of their beautiful baby boy. Joel was born on 30th March and weighed an impressive 9lbs 13oz. Well done Mum! We wish you all health, happiness and plenty of sleep! We were all really impressed with Olivia’s science experiment. She investigated what would happen when you add a ‘Mento’ sweet to a bottle of coke. This is what she discovered…

Another outdoor activity. Try learning your timestables on a huge number line, with the help of your pet dog, of course! Well done Oliver.

    A super write up!

Lots of you have found a new love of

reading by trying out different others.

    Florence learning

    to use bossy verbs

    to make vegetable

    soup. You could

    follow these

    instructions to
