Come, Holy Ghost, Creator, come from thy bright heavenly throne, come, take possession of our souls, and make them all thine own. Thou who art called the Paraclete, best gift of God above, the living spring, the living fire, sweet unction and true love. O guide our minds with thy blest light, with love our hearts inflame; and with thy strength, which ne’er de-cays confirm our mortal frame. As we incense the altar: The spirit of the Lord fills the earth, holds all things together, knows every thought, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia. Alle-luia, alleluia. Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to people of good will. We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory, Lord God, heavenly King, O God, al-mighty Father. Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Fa-ther, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer;

you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us. For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.

A Reading from the Acts of the Apostles 2: 1-11 Psalm 103

Bless the Lord, my soul! Lord God, how great you are! How many are your works, O Lord, The earth is full, the earth is full, the earth is full of your riches. Send forth your spirit Lord! Send your Spirit, renew the earth . . . . .. . You take back your spirit, they die, return to the dust whence they came., You send your spirit, create them all, and so you renew, and so you renew, renew the face of the earth. Send forth your spirit Lord! Send your Spirit, renew the earth . . . . . .

A reading from the 1st letter to the Corinthians 12: 3b-7 Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia. Come, Holy Spirit, fill all faithful hearts, kindle in them the fire of love. Come, Holy Spirit, come. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

Gospel: John: 20: 19-23

The Apostle’s Creed: I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, At the words that follow, up to and including the Virgin Mary, all bow.

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

The Preparation of Gifts Veni, veni, Sancte Spiritus. Veni, veni, Sancte Spiritus. Spirit hov’ring o’er the waters, when the world from chaos began, Living Spirit, recreate us! Come, restore our hearts with life. Veni Spirit speaking through the prophets when they cried for justice and peace, Living Spirit, come renew us, fill the earth with peace and love. Veni, veni, Sancte Spiritus. Spirit hovering o'er apostles, wind and fire of Pentecost Day, Living Spirit, now confirm us; come inspire us, come, we pray. Veni, veni 2

May on Iona Pilgrimage for Peace and Economic Justice: This 750 mile pilgrimage will start from Iona at Pentecost (Sunday May 19th) 2013 and finish at the Houses of Par-liament in London. A primary aim of the Pilgrimage is to focus public attention on the Government’s proposal to renew the very expensive Trident nuclear missile

system, while NHS, education and social welfare budgets are at risk. This pilgrim-age is an act of witness in line with Christian tradition, and will visit historic centres

of prayer along the way. More information on the Pilgrimage is available at: http://

www.justpeacepilgrimage.com/, including the route map. Stops within the Glas-

gow Archdiocese include Faslane and Dumbarton, with an event in Glasgow on

Support Your Local Parish!

The Fabric & Finance Committee met recently to review the financial position of the parish in light of the finalised accounts for last year (which have been submitted to the Archdiocese) and expected expenditure for this year. Our main source of in-come is the weekly donations of parishioners, supplemented by the tax recovered from the government on those donations which are covered by a gift aid declara-tion. Income from our main collections has held steady but unfortunately, due to tax changes, the tax refund was down by over £800 (over 10%), and our unavoidable costs such as electricity, gas and repairs continue to rise despite our best efforts. St. Leo parishioners are very generous and we appreciate this but we need to in-crease our income and we would ask you to think about how you could help.

3 possible steps:- Think about increasing your weekly donation if you can - if everyone gave even

a small increase, this would go a long way Complete a Gift Aid Declaration if you haven’t already done so – if you pay in-

come tax on your salary or your pension (yes- do check this!) or capital gains tax, you can Gift Aid and increase your donations at no cost to your-self!

Consider paying your weekly donation by Direct Debit; a number of parishioners

already do this and it gives us the security of regular income to cover our running costs which unfortunately are also regular. Paying by Direct Debit also means less hassle for you

Please think seriously about this – we have not asked you to look at increasing

your giving for some time – does your giving reflect the importance of your faith in

your life? Thank you for giving this matter your attention.

Can you help all you bakers out there? Perhaps with donations of cakes or raffle prizes so that we can have PP.. • A Best Cake Competition • A Guess the Weight of the Cake • A Cake Decorating competition on the day

and • more, more, more

But mainly just come along and enjoy cake
