The Seiun Awards are the Japanesefan awards, voted on by the membersof the yearly Japanese Science FictionConvention. “Seiun” means “nebula”in English. The first Seiun Awards, pre-sented in 1970 at the Ninth JapaneseSF Convention, had six categories;now there are eight. Two of the awardsfor 2003 are to be presented atNoreascon 4: the Translated NovelAward and the Translated Short StoryAward.
