Just draw a word picture of the kind of person you want to be twenty-five years from now. Then, don’t just wish for it, but tear into it with your whole life. And, then “voila” twenty-five years later, if you’ve put your whole life into it, you see the fruits of that labor. How do I know that will hap- pen? The Bible says so! “Whatever you sow, you shall reap.” So choose your seeds carefully and thoughtfully. Water and weed throughout your life and you, with support and direc- tion from the Creator, will realize your life’s goals. But it does not mean there won’t bumps in the road along the way. You’ll have good days and bad days. Everyone has bad days, days when nothing goes right and everything seems to go wrong. But when one of these days comes your way, you shouldn’t think that you have been singled out by God. Everyone has them. It’s also good to remember that if it were not for the occasional bad day, the good ones would become monotonous. Bad days provide a good test to see if our happiness is real enough to carry over and to hold us up until the sun shines again. Amazingly, we have the freedom to choose whether we shall live good lives or bad, successful or failing. Whichever we choose and bend our efforts to, we will get. Imagine that! Sow good things and reap even more of them. Please exercise good thinking about the things you wish for and the goals you set for yourself. Your wishes may come true, but may not ultimately be the best for you. And you WILL make mistakes along the way. Just be wise enough to learn from them. FATHER ANDREw’S MESSAGETO THE GRADUATE

You are completing the prep phase of the rest of your life. You will soon begin another important phase that will moreclearly define and prepare you for your life’s work and thefulfillment of the goals YOU have set for yourself.

Would you like to know what the future holds for you? I ac-tually think everyone would like to take a peek into tomor-row. And, interestingly enough, it is possible. How?

Just draw a word picture of the kind of person you want tobe twenty-five years from now. Then, don’t just wish for it,but tear into it with your whole life. And, then “voila”twenty-five years later, if you’ve put your whole life into it,you see the fruits of that labor. How do I know that will hap-pen? The Bible says so! “Whatever you sow, you shall reap.”So choose your seeds carefully and thoughtfully. Water andweed throughout your life and you, with support and direc-tion from the Creator, will realize your life’s goals. But it doesnot mean there won’t bumps in the road along the way.

You’ll have good days and bad days. Everyone has bad days, days when nothing goes right and everything seems to gowrong. But when one of these days comes your way, youshouldn’t think that you have been singled out by God.Everyone has them. It’s also good to remember that if itwere not for the occasional bad day, the good ones wouldbecome monotonous. Bad days provide a good test to seeif our happiness is real enough to carry over and to hold usup until the sun shines again.

Amazingly, we have the freedom to choose whether weshall live good lives or bad, successful or failing. Whicheverwe choose and bend our efforts to, we will get. Imaginethat! Sow good things and reap even more of them.

Please exercise good thinking about the things you wish forand the goals you set for yourself. Your wishes may cometrue, but may not ultimately be the best for you. And youWILL make mistakes along the way. Just be wise enough to

learn from them.

In this world, everything reaps its own harvest. Corn mustcome from corn and beans from beans. Kindness, love andsuccess come from planting those seeds and nurturing themproperly so as to reap a harvest of kindness, love and suc-cess.

I wish to all of the graduates a life of challenges, successes, kindness, love and prosperity which are the direct result ofsowing and properly cultivating the right seeds.

Congratulations!

“Prayer is not a device for getting our wills done throughheaven, but a desire that God’s will may be done on earththrough us.”

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE!Three priests were having lunch together and the The Catholic priest said, “Since the good weather started, I

HOPE/JOY NEwSThis month, the children gathered and had a lot of fun dis-cussing Mother's Day, Father's Day and ways to "honor thymother and thy father". After a brief lesson, we madethank you cards to our parents for all they do for us and weenjoyed a homemade macaroni and cheese dinner. Ourfinal meeting of the school year will be on Friday, June 20thwhen we will enjoy a cookout and outdoor games (weatherpermitting). We hope to see you all there!Sia CoteHope/Joy Advisor

GOYA NEwSBY NICK SPANOS

GOYA was very helpful over the past couple of months withservices and activities at the church. They will be wrappingthings up for the year with an outing scheduled at the endof June. We would also like to thank everyone who sup-ported us during the Mother's Day Bake Sale!

And we wish our President, Christina Spanos, best of luckas she graduates from high school and goes on to collegeat Keene State!

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGEDear Fellow Parishioners,

This month will find us wrapping up some programs and be-ginning others. Sunday School and Greek School will beover for this school year and our high school seniors will behonored on June 8. Also, on June 8 the Metropolis LaityAwards Program will take place in Randolph, MA and ourDorothy Chakas will be recognized by Metropolitan Metho-dios for all that she has done and continues to do for ourparish. I hope that many of you will be able to join us.

The Anagennesis Ladies Society will be honoring the Dadson Father’s Day with a special coffee hour.

On June 22 we will begin a new program for our children—Summer Sunday School. It will follow a very different for-mat from that used during the school year. Children willstay in church until Holy Communion and then proceed tothe Community Center for one multi-age lesson. While theyounger children are working on a craft the older childrenwill expand the discussion of the lesson of the day.

Following the Divine Liturgy there will be time for fellowshipin the Community Center. The church will provide coffeeand munchkins as long as volunteers sign up to do minimalwork. One person will fetch the munchkins, milk, and juice.Another person will be in charge of making coffee and settingup the serving station in the community center. If there areno volunteers for a particular Sunday then we will not haverefreshments that day. Also, if people want to bring additionalitems from home to share they will be welcomed. VenetaTatakis is spearheading these efforts and will have sign-upsheets available during coffee hours on June 1, 8, and 15.

Cooking for Glendi will begin during the month of June. Getout your aprons and your comfortable shoes! It’s time forthe serious work of Glendi to start!! There is a cookingschedule elsewhere in this bulletin. Mark your calendarsand consider yourselves invited to join in and help!! Manyhands make the work light and when we are talking aboutmaking hundreds if not thousands of a particular item weneed LOTS of willing hands.

All of you should have received a letter concerning theGlendi Ad Book. This is the one place where all of us canhelp to increase the profits of our festival. Some can do itby writing a check for an ad they have purchased. Others

can add to that by asking businesses, friends and family toalso purchase ads. The more the merrier!! There are copiesof last year’s ad book in the office if you’d like to see whohasn’t been approached—yet.

Summer Church Camp will be held from July 28 – August 1.Plans are in the works for the children to have a wonderfultime learning about the saints and bonding together as aChristian group.

I wish you all a glorious summer!! We’ll let the sunshinerecharge us with energy after the long, cold winter.

URGENT NEED FOR FOODThe demand for food assistance is at an all time high and foodbank supplies are at a record low. Help is needed to fill theirshelves and ensure that some of the poorest residents of ourcommunity receive food. The greatest needs are: peanutbutter, jelly, tuna fish, canned vegetables, canned fruit, cereal, pasta, and sauce. Please drop your items off at the Commu-nity Center and we will deliver them to the soup kitchen. NewHorizons and the recipients of the food are very grateful foryour generous donations.

DOROTHY (DODO) CHAKASThe Board of Directors of St. George Greek OrthodoxCathedral is pleased to announce that the 2014 Metrop-olis Ministry Award recipient from our parish is DorothyChakas. Dodo was born in Nashua, New Hampshire andraised in Franklin and Manchester, NH. She has a son,Steve, and a daughter, Elly. She joined the choir in 1962and was the church secretary from 1966 to 1969.

The first year that Glendi began Dodo volunteered to bein charge of the salad making crew—a position she stillholds today! When the church began a Summer VacationCamp Dodo volunteered to help in any way she could—something she still does today. A group of ladies dis-cussed cleaning the church before Easter once and Dodovolunteered to “gather the troops” and cleaning materi-als—she did it again this past Easter season. Every Tues-day morning you can find her knitting with the WorkshopLadies as they prepare for Glendi. She is currently theMembership Chair for the Anagennesis Ladies Society.

There is only one thing Dodo won’t do and that is answera plea for help with a NO. She is always ready, willing, and able to help. If she see a need and hasn’t beenasked that’s okay because she steps up and does whatneeds to be done.

The Saint George parish family proclaims her “Axia!”

CUB SCOUTSPack 92 finished its year on May 28th with a fantastic PackBBQ and Crossover ceremony. Starting in June, the Packwill switch to our Summer calendar. We will meet everyOTHER Wednesday at 6PM at the Community Center, start-ing on June 11th. The focus of the summer program is tobe outdoors working on games or outdoor projects (lastyear we made teepees) so that our Scouts and their familiescan work and play together outside. Some activities slatedfor this summer: a Bike Rodeo (fixing up and working onbicycle safety), Cubmobile (working on a soap-box type car),Fisher Cats Stadium campout….it will be a great time and isopen to all of the boys in the Community!

SUNDAY SCHOOLDear St. George Community, The 2013-2014 Sunday Schoolyear has come to end. The time has flown by! On May 18 wecelebrated our Sunday School students at our end of yearprogram. The students did an amazing job reciting their classprayers! Thank you to all the teachers and staff for their hardwork and dedication! Congratulations to George Tsirimokos, who graduated from Sunday School this year! The SundaySchool students were busy this year with their lessons, craftsand philanthropy projects. This year, at Christmas time, we col-lected over 140 hats, gloves and mittens for the Salvation Army.To date we have collected 600 books for our Spring Book Drive! The books will be donated to Easter Seals and Penelopeʼs Place.Through philanthropy projects like this, the students have anopportunity to extend the values and fellowship they learn be-yond the classroom. I hope everybody has a wonderful sum-mer! I look forward to seeing all of you in church during thesummertime and in Sunday School in the fall!Sincerely, Athena Moutsioulis Bevan
