Our rush efforts, headed by brother Nash Wiley ’19, produced a di- verse pledge class hailing from every cor- ner of the United States; from California to Florida, from New York to Texas, and back to our home state of Virginia. is group includes two legacies, a former UVA football player, and a current UVA lacrosse player, Paul Rodriguez ’22. While their introduction to the traditions of the Hall are just beginning, these twenty new members have already provided a new spirit and liveliness to our existing broth- erhood. We could not be more excited about this class, and we look forward to their progression and ultimate initiation into the bonds of the St. Anthony Hall. is newest addition gives our fraternity a total of 76 ac- tive members. Brother Matt Nightingale ’20 is currently serving as the Faculty and Alumni Chair for the Inter-Fraternity Council. e Hall now has a long history of involve- ment with the IFC, which allows us to foster a posi- tive relationship with the Dean of Fraternity and So- rority life, Hal Turner, as well as the larger Greek community. Additionally, brother Jefferson Dockter ’21 currently plays on the UVA tennis team and brother Les- ter Coleman ’19 was the starting punter for the UVA football team this fall. Lester helped lead UVA to its first Bowl victory since 2005, defeating South Carolina 28-0. In terms of philanthropy and community service, the Hall continues to be a leader in the Greek community. Additionally, the Hall hosted a community-wide fundraiser for the ‘Kids with Cancer’ organization, headed by our phi- lanthropy chairs, brothers Cole Green ’20, Justin Tennery ’20, and Jack Sell ’19. Finally, the brothers of the Hall con- tinue to be involved in the Madison House program, a community service organization on Grounds, which provides volunteer op- portunities in the greater Charlottesville area. Additionally, this year has been marked by generous donations from alumni for the purposes of large scale improvements to the Hall. Since the summer of 2018, we have suc- cessfully raised over $10,000 for the install- ment of a new bar area and moose head, in addition to new robes for every brother and general improvements to the basement and living areas. My personal thanks to Peter Paige, Chris Wamsley, Lyons Brown, Austin Holbrook, and Ned Parrish for their continued support. Our alumni asso- ciation and network have undoubtedly remained com- mitted to the Hall and its future success. We hope to continue to foster this positive relationship with our alumni with ‘homecoming’ events in the fall and spring. Ultimately, St. Anthony Hall continues to provide our brothers with a home and family at the University of Vir- ginia. On behalf of the Upsilon Chapter of St. Anthony Hall, I am happy to report our fraternity is thriving and our stand-ing remains strong at the University of Virginia. This year, for the second year in a row, we welcome a pledge class of twenty new members into our brotherhood. Our rush efforts, headed by brother Nash Wiley ’19, produced a di-verse pledge class hailing from every cor-ner of the United States; from California to Florida, from New York to Texas, and back to our home state of Virginia. This group includes two legacies, a former UVA football player, and a current UVA lacrosse player, Paul Rodriguez ’22. While their introduction to the traditions of the Hall are just beginning, these twenty new members have already provided a new spirit and liveliness to our existing broth-erhood. We could not be more excited about this class, and we look forward to their progression and ultimate initiation into the bonds of the St. Anthony Hall. This newest addition gives our fraternity a total of 76 ac-tive members. In turn, every brother has found unique, but different ways to contribute to the Hall, the Univer-sity, and the greater Charlottesville area. This winter, we had multiple brothers attend the Grand Council meeting at Trinity College, where they emphasized the importance of Upsilon continuing to set an example for others while stressing the importance of reaching out to different Hall chapters for advice and support. At the University, the Hall continues to be involved in the larger community. Brother Matt Nightingale ’20 is currently serving as the Faculty and Alumni Chair for the Inter-Fraternity Council. The Hall now has a long history of involve-ment with the IFC, which allows us to foster a posi-tive relationship with the Dean of Fraternity and So-rority life, Hal Turner, as well as the larger Greek community. • Real Estate Club• Tutor for Madison House Elementary School Program• Responsible Investment Group• Meal Plan Chair for St. Anthony Hall

“The walls of St. Anthony Hall have been my home for four years at the University. There isn’t another place on grounds that has helped foster relationships in times of peril or happiness for me. It’s a uniquely remarkable place.”

“There is something special about a place that can bring people of different backgrounds and lifestyles together toward a common goal and that’s exactly what St. Anthony Hall did. My time at the Univer-sity of Virginia has been defined by my time spent at the Hall. It is a home away from home; containing a diverse mix of great young men that will always have a spot in my heart.”
