As part of my senior school’s CV development initiative I was encouraged to enter younger year’s classes as a Teaching Assistant. This was done several times throughout my time at sixth form spanning many subjects, such as: ICT, Science and General Studies I was approached in sixth-form to present and demonstrate both Physics and Chemistry to prospective sixth-form student in a fun and interesting way, trying to appeal to the parents and students simultaneously. I was later commended in my undergraduate reference written by my school’s Head of Sixth Form. The tasks included demonstrating: the flame test with various metal salts, colour chromatography and a makeshift hover-board; explaining each with an appropriate level of detail. I was also a Year 10 Mentor, helping two students who just enrolled into the school (Year 7) with any questions they may have, including: pastoral care, academic issues and other more general issues. We arranged weekly to fortnightly get-togethers for updates on any subsequent problems they may have had.
