Premise: all the European explorers are on a ship together. Unfortunately the ship is sinking and First Nations rescuers can only save FIVE explorers. Which ones should they save? For this project you and your partner will choose an explorer. Together you must research your assigned explorer to figure out why THEY were the MOST significant. Include impact on First Nations society(ies). Your project presentation should focus on WHO your explorer was and WHY they should be saved Goals: ! To understand what life was like for an early explorer (life on a ship, ‘discovery’, journey across the ocean, etc.) ! To discover the impact your explorer had on First Nations society(ies) ! To establish historical significance for why your explorer should be saved ! Research, and extract essential information from reliable sources (must submit bibliography in MLA format). 3 sources minimum (at least 1 book) !
