Learning by study must be won; that was neer entailed from son to son. MANIT,

besides being a place of learning also acts as a centre of overall development ofones

intellectual, creative, technical and literary self. Conducting SRAJAN Student

Project Contest is a matter of great importance and joy for me and for the instituteas well. I congratulate the IEEE members for bringing out such an event and

providing the students a medium to showcase their technical capabilities and wish

the team all the success in upholding the tradition that dates right back to the

    foundation days of this institution.

    Students Project Contest - SRAJAN.

I am glad to see the IEEE MANIT

team come up with events of

stature in the past and I am sure

MANIT Student Branch would serve the

society as a whole by imparting knowledge

far and wide. I cheer the members for

bringing out such a contest which provide a

platform for students to display their talent.

    SRAJAN would be a showcase

of the inherent talent of all the

    students, not only of their

    research and technical

capabilities but innovativeaspects as well. The IEEEwill continue the trend in the near future. In a

technical institute like ours it is good to see

students getting involved in core technical

learning and projects. I wish the IEEE MANIT

Aarambh is an outreach program conducted by IEEEMANIT Students' Branch with an intrinsic aim to

promote science not as a subject but as a part of day to

day life and career interest to the underprivileged

sections of society. The idea is to popularize science as

a way to understand life and to feel the things

happening around by reaching children from deprived

communities, who are getting elementary education in

some government or convent schools with basic

problems such as lack of quality teacher, improper

    infrastructure, lack of guidance, inadequate

    atmosphere.

    Talks & Webinar

A webinar on inertial systems and GPS was given by Dr. George T Schimdt,

Distinguished lecturer for IEEE Aerospace and Electronic system society. One talk

was on 'How to make yourself Industry Adaptive' and

another on 'Summer Internships in India and Abroad.

MANIT, Bhopal to present their projects. The contest is to be held in national-

level, so huge participation of UG, PG and Doctoral students from all areas ofengineering and science across India is expected.

Pre-contest workshops and talks to be delivered by notable speakers are an

added incentive and through which we will increase our reach to more and

    more number of students.

SCEECS 2012 organized by our student branch was a huge success with 629

papers authored by 1500 students and scholars submitted for review

throughout the world in the conference. The average number of visits on

conference website was 300 hits/day and the footfall during the event was

    6000 people/day.

Keeping in view of the grand success of the student conference, SRAJAN also

expects huge participation from all over the nation. We are expecting around

100-150 teams with around 500-600 students to take part in first phase of
