Home Connection Day 1Dear Families,
This packet is to help support your child’s learning at home during this time. Follow
the guide for each day. You can click on
the colored words to take you to the
correct video or search youtube for the
title. If you do not have dice or playing
cards, you can use the flash cards in this
set. Your child should only need a pencil,
crayons and the attached cards to do the
activities that are being sent home. There is
also a list of great websites, apps, books
that can be read to them and an activity
list for exercised and simple boredom. We
hope you find this helpful.

Home Connection Day 1LITERACY

❑ Rainbow write your name.
❑ Listen to the book: Rainbow Fish
*Who were the characters in the story?
❑ Draw in your journal a picture of the
playground.
❑ Fine Motor Extension: Use noodles, pom
poms, cotton balls, cereal, etc. to your
name.
❑ Practice Counting to 10
❑Watch Colors for Kids
❑Card Game: Play BIGGER THAN. Put down
two cards and say which number is bigger.
Ex. 5 is BIGGER than 2. Keep going.
❑ Homework: Count the number of doors in
your house.
❑ Look outside and draw a picture of the weather.
Label the picture. Watch: Weather Patterns
❑ Think about what makes a good friend and share
with someone how you can be a good friend.

❑ Rainbow write lowercase letters.
❑ Listen to the book: Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
*What was the setting in the story?
❑ Draw in your journal a picture what you would
do on a rainy day.
❑ Fine Motor Extension: Make bubbles! Fill the sink
halfway with water, add a little dish soap and
use a whisk to make bubbles.
❑ Rainbow write numbers 1-5
❑ Practice Singing Counting 1-10
❑ Dice Game: Roll a dot die (if you don’t have them, using the flash cards in this set). Say the
number you count.
❑ Homework: Count the number of cabinets in
your kitchen.
❑ Draw a picture of each season: Summer, Winter,
Spring and Fall.
❑ Think about rules at home and rules at school.
Which rules are the same? Which are different?

❑ Practice rainbow writing capital letters.
❑ Listen to the book: Good Night Moon
*Who was the author and illustrator?
❑ Draw in your journal your trip on an airplane.
❑ Fine Motor Extension: Get two bowls a spoon
and something to spoon (beans, beads,
cotton balls, noodles, etc) and spoon one at
a time from one bowl to the next.
❑Count backwards from 10.
❑ Practice Singing I Like To Make 5
❑Card Game: Play LESS THAN. Put down two
cards and say which number is smaller. Ex. 3
is SMALLER than 8. Keep going.
❑ Homework: Count the socks in your drawer.
❑ Draw three things that are living and three things
that are nonliving. Remember to be living, it
needs to breathe air, need food and water.
❑ Draw a map of your house. Watch this video
about MAPS.

*What happened in the beginning, middle
and end?
❑ Draw in your journal a picture of a snow day.
❑ Fine Motor Extension: Practice buttoning and
zipping clothes on your body and clothes that
are not.
❑ Rainbow write numbers 6-10
❑ Practice Singing Shape Songs For Kids
❑ Dice Game: Two Dice Addition-Roll two dice.
Count the dots and add them together. If
you don’t have dice, use the dice flash cards.
❑ Homework: Count the spoons and forks in
your kitchen.
❑ STEM: Use notecards to build a house. How big
can you make it?
❑ Draw and label your family. Watch this video on

closing a ziplock bag.
❑ Draw a circle, square, rectangle and
triangle.
❑ Practice Singing Sorting By Color and Size
❑Card Game: Pick up a number. Say what it
is. Find that many objects (ex. 2 cotton balls).
❑ Homework: Find shapes in your house.
Something that is a square, rectangle, circle
and triangle.
❑ Senses: Draw something you can see, hear,
taste, touch and smell. Watch this video on

food.
❑ Fine Motor Extension: Build with something
you have at home (legos, blocks, etc).
❑ Practice counting as high as you can.
❑ Practice Singing Counting Numbers
❑ Card Game: What comes next? Put down a
card and say that number that you think comes
next.
❑ Homework: Count out 20 pieces of cereal. Now
put them in groups of five. How many groups do
you have?
❑ Draw a picture of yourself and label the parts of
your body (head, arm, legs, hand, feet).
❑ Do you have any pets? Draw a picture of your
pet or the pet you wish you had.

put them around a plastic cup or bowl.

❑ Practice Singing Counting Numbers

die(if you don’t have them, using the flash cards in this set). Find the matching number
card.
❑ Homework: Count out ten pennies
❑ STEM: Using items at home, build a house for the

❑ Card Game: Play LESS THAN. Pick up a card. Say
the number. Say another number that is smaller
than that number.
❑ Homework: Find four objects in your house and
put them in order from shortest to longest (ex.
paper, spoon, shoe, legos).
❑ Fill the sink with water. Find a few items in your
house (with parental help) and see if they sink or
float.
❑ Draw a map of your house. Watch this video on

something fun with it.

❑ Practice Singing Same and Different
❑ Dice Game: Two Dice Addition-Roll two dice.
Count the dots and add them together. If you
don’t have dice, use the dice flash cards.❑ Homework: Count your fingers and toes.
❑ STEM: Try to create a ramp with something
around the house. Use a toy car to see if you can
