El ministerio hispano venderá comida el 1er y 3er domingo del mes, los fondos recaudados serán para apoyar a la VISION 2020 de St. John the Apostle.

The Hispanic ministry will sell food the 1st and the 3rd Sunday of the month, all the proceeds will go to support the VISION 2020 of St. John the Apostle.

Traveling Vocations Chalice ProgramPrograma del Cáliz Vocacional

This program encourages families to pray regularly for vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life. Each week a family will receive the Vocation Chalice at Mass and take it home with a promise to “pray for vocations” during that week. The chalice may be displayed in a prominent place in the home where the family will gather together each day to pray, asking God to help raise awareness for vocations in our parish. At the end of the week, the family will bring the chalice back to the same Mass so the next family can take it home. We hope that through prayer, our parish may become a source of vocations to serve the diocese and the Church. Este programa anima a las familias a orar regularmente por las vocaciones al sacerdocio ya la vida consagrada. Cada semana una familia recibirá el Cáliz Vocacional en la Misa y lo llevará a casa con una promesa de "orar por vocaciones" durante esa semana. Baby World

In June we helped almost 100 families asking for help for their children. We distribute over 1,000 articles of clothing. We are short on size 4 diapers and toddler clothing, size 3-6. We appreci-ate all donations so we can serve the families who are struggling to provide for their children.

Faith in Action

This week a client called our office seeking help with her electric bill. She has been raising two grandchildren with her only income from Social Security. She was unable to pay this bill because of costs related to the start of school. We were able to help her keep her electricity from being disconnected thanks to the generosity of parishioners who continue to support our parish.

Deaf Ministry Program

The Deaf Ministry Program in the Diocese of Fort Worth is offering Religious Education classes for deaf children and adults. There are self-contained classes for deaf students on Wednesday evenings at St. John the Apostle. These classes are taught by hearing adults knowledgeable in ASL and Deaf Culture. If you would prefer to have your deaf/hard of hearing child participate in your home parish, every effort will be made to supply an interpreter for them. In either case, please contact the Deaf Ministry Coordinator, Connie Martin via email at cmartin@fwdioc.org, or call (817) 905-9381 to enroll you child in Religious Education for the Fall of 2019.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus says, “Much will be required of the person entrusted with much, and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more.” This a strong message to us, as Christian stewards, that we indeed need to use, at all times, all of our God-given gifts of time, skills, and material resources to do God’s work here on Earth.

En el Evangelio de hoy, Jesús nos dice: "Al que mucho se le da, se le exigirá mucho, y al que mucho se le confía, se le exigirá mucho más." Este es un fuerte mensaje para nosotros, como administradores cristianos, de que ciertamente en todo momento debemos usar todos nuestros dones de tiempo, habilidades y recursos materiales dados por Dios para hacer el trabajo de Dios aquí en la Tierra.
