It’s a Bug’s Life!
On Wednesday Reception and Nursery were very excited to see that they had been visited by several unusual
creatures! The children really enjoyed looking at all of the different bugs and some were even brave enough to hold
them! Well done children.
“The moth I held was pretty” Emily. “I like the toad, he was green” Sam. “I like the spider walking on my hand” Lily
Canal Safety
This week the children had a special assembly learning about being safe around canals. Following the assembly Year
6 and Year 4 took part in some workshops linked to their learning in their science lessons about water.

FOHM Fashion Show
We are very excited about the upcoming fashion
show that the Friends of Hayes Meadow have
arranged. It will take place on Saturday 20th
May
in the school hall. Please support this event and
bring along your friends! The tickets will be available from the school office.
Home/ school agreement
Our Hayes Meadow Home /School agreement was discussed with most parents/ carers at parents
evening. If you were unable to attend these meetings your child’s class teacher will be sending the
agreement home with your child. You will receive two agreements; one is for you to keep at home
and the other to send back into school signed please. Many thanks.
Earrings
Staffordshire policy is that earrings are not to be worn during PE at all. We are currently updating
our school policy which now states that earrings must be removed for PE. We would therefore
kindly request that parents/ carers allow their children to have their ears pierced in the summer holidays so that this
does not impact on their PE in school. This new policy will be put into action following the Easter holidays.
Therefore any child with their ears pierced after this point will need to be able to remove them on the day of PE or
not wear them to school on PE days. Children will not be allowed to cover their ears with plasters or tape. If
children have their ears pierced during term time they will not be able to take part in physical PE sessions until they
are able to remove their earrings. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused but hope that we have given you
sufficient notice of this change in policy.
