Spiritual
Communion Prayer My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my
soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from
You. Amen.
2 May 17, 2020 | Sixth Sunday of Easter
FROM OUR PASTOR
We are now ready to begin our “slow re-opening” of our church. This past week beginning on Wednesday, we started with the Sacrament of Penance and will have two more special times for confessions on Monday, May 18th at 10 am and 6 pm. Remember to keep your social distance! I made a mistake! In the daily Mass schedule I had written that we would have a Noon Mass on Wednesdays—well, when we start up Adoration again that Noon Mass will be in the
way! So, let’s move that second Wednesday Mass to 6 pm. (See next page) We’ll keep the extra Masses we’ve added going for awhile, probably changing the schedule again when we can start having Masses at our nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Please keep our friends at Country Charm, The Bickford, The Hearth, Demaree Crossing and Aspen Trace in your prayers as they are not able to have their monthly Masses. We’ve removed the chairs from the church since being able to clean them and let them dry will take too long for people at the next Weekend Mass to sit in the same place. Our church seats between 800 and 1,000 (children are smaller than adults!) so by removing about 200 chairs we still will be under the 30% capacity requirement with 200 people maximum at one Mass.

MASSES & INTENTIONS
Remember—we do not have the obligation to attend Sunday Mass until August 15th. So, if you would like to come to Mass once a week, but are concerned about the crowds on Saturday and Sunday, why not come to a Daily Mass and make that your Mass for the week? You know I like numbers! If we have a maximum of 200 people at a Mass with 11 Daily Masses and 6 weekend Masses, and if everyone would “spread out”, we could have 3,400 people come to Mass each week—on a good weekend we used to have 1,500 at Mass! So, please consider coming to a Daily Mass for your once a week Mass if you can. When you come to Mass be ready to help sanitize your section of the church. We are getting volun-teers, but we’ll need your help sometimes to help get ready for the next Mass. We will have the sanitizer, gloves, cloths and water—you just need to bring your own mask. Thank you for helping our parishioners be safe at Mass.
Peace and all good,
Fr. Steve Giannini

Eternal Life Insurance Policy of Jesus Dear Friends,
“I will not leave you orphaned” triggers fear, vulnerability, loneliness and abandonment deep within us. At the same time it recounts that we’re not destined to stand alone without an identity. To be sure, there are moments and transitions in life that can leave us feeling as orphans. What will I do now? Where will I go? What happens next? Who will love me and guide me? Who will stand by me? These are the questions I imagine running through the heads and hearts of the disciples in gospel. When do you Feel Orphaned? It is the last supper. Disciples have been fed, feet have been washed, and the betrayer has left. It is night, dark, and Jesus announces he is leaving. The one for whom they left everything now says he is leaving. This is where the disciples or anyone for that matter feel orphaned. Anyone who has ever loved and lost- a spouse, a child, a friend, security, hope- knows the pain and fear of being orphaned. Why do you Fear? Because fear of losing someone close to you. Jesus’ leaving and coming; presence and absence, confronts us with the question of whether Jesus, for us, is past memory or a present reality, a sentimental story that makes us feel good or a living experience that challenges, guides, and nurtures our life. Thus, we fear becoming orphaned. That fear points to the deeper reality that by ourselves, we are not enough. We were not intended to be alone as individuals. We were created to love and to be loved by each other just as the Father is in Jesus and Jesus is in the Father. What is the Promise of the Lord? Isaiah 43: 1 “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are mine.” Jesus says, “I will not leave you orphaned.” This is the promise. Regardless of the cir-cumstances of our lives, storms, death, separation, we have never been and will never be orphaned by God. How can we access this Life Insurance? According to Jesus, the answer to the question is determined by love that is revealed and fulfilled in keeping His Commandments. Keeping the Commandments is our access to Jesus’ promise that we will not be left orphaned.
Now the ball is on our court; whether to become orphaned or to grab this Life Insurance. We have not been abandoned. Let us not abandon ourselves or others to the orphanages of this world. Love everyone with all that you are and that you have, even as the Father and Jesus love us with all that They are and They have. The Risen Lord is and will be with us always till the end of the world. Amen
God bless you all. Fr. Jey
Hooray! We are able to have public Masses again! Below is our current schedule. Remember that we will still be doing “social distancing,” along with our other Coronavirus precautions. All
our precautions are listed on page 4.
Monday 8 am and Noon Tuesday 8 am and 6 pm Wednesday 6:30 am and 6 pm Thursday 8 am and 6 pm Friday 8 am and Noon Saturday 8 am with Confessions at 8:30 am Saturday Eve 4 pm and 5:30 pm Sunday 7 am, 8:45 am, 10 am and 11:30 am
NEW MASS SCHEDULE
4 May 17, 2020 | Sixth Sunday of Easter
I PLAN ON ATTENDING MASS—WHAT DO I DO? Here are some easy steps for you to take when coming to Mass:
1. Wash your hands before getting in your car to drive to the parish. Thank you! 2. If you would like to wear a mask to Mass that will be fine! 3. Come into church through the center doors which will be propped open so you don’t
have to touch a door handle. Please do not use any of the other doors (they will be locked).
4. If you need to wash your hands again, we have 3 sinks in the women’s restroom, 3 sinks in the men’s restroom, a sink in the Hospitality Room, a sink in the Courtesy Room, and sinks in each of the two restrooms near the back entrance to the parish offices. We have soap dispensers, and remember to wash for 20 seconds! Washing hands with soap is better than hand sanitizer, but we will have hand sanitizer available in the narthex (we hope to not run out!). Please bring your own personal sized bottle of hand sanitizer for your use if you have one!
5. Before you come into church for the Sunday 8:45 am, 10 am and 11:30 am Masses, pick up a bulletin, in the narthex, with the words to our hymns for Mass. We will not have music at the Saturday 4 pm and 5:30 pm and Sunday 7 am Masses (though we may sing a cappella a familiar hymn or two!).
6. Place your offering envelope in the baskets at the back of church—we will not be tak-ing up a collection during Mass. Thank you for your generous gifts to the parish!
7. Choose a place to sit 6 feet away from other people—you may sit next to your own family members less than 6 feet away from one another. Do not sit in the pews marked with blue tape—those blocked off pews are to help us keep good social distancing.
8. Remember, no holding hands during the Our Father, and we will not have the Sign of Peace.
9. Here’s something new—instead of coming forward for Communion at the normal time, the priest (and deacon) will have communion and then continue with the Mass. Then, after the deacon or priest says “Go forth, the Mass is ended” or other closing, the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion will come forward, receive the Blessed Sacrament, and go to their places for Communion. Then, keeping 6 feet away from each other, form lines to come to Communion, bringing your bulletin, hand bag, etc. with you. Once you receive Communion, walk to the outside of the church through the center doorway (so you don’t touch the door handles) and proceed to your car.
10. If you receive a low gluten host, please be first in the priest’s Communion line! We have a ciborium ready with low gluten hosts—no need to bring your individual pix.
11. If you prefer receiving Communion on the tongue, please be at the end of the priest’s Communion line! Only the priests will offer Communion to those who prefer receiving on the tongue.

MOMS IN NEED
Especially during this and all times of difficulty and anxiety, we pray that Our Lady will draw pregnant mothers close to her heart and, through her intercession, bring comfort, encour-agement, and joyful hope. In bravely living out their vocation, mothers reflect the sacrificial love of Christ on a daily basis. With the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Life as our guide, may we work to support all mothers, especially those who are most in need.

MAY IS PRAY THE ROSARY MONTH Traditionally in May, we say the Rosary before each weekend Mass. Let’s follow our tradition
and pray the Rosary in our homes with our family members. The Rosary can be said anytime of the
day or week.
The Five Joyful Mysteries are traditionally prayed on the Mondays, Saturdays, and Sundays of Advent:
1. The Annunciation 2. The Visitation 3. The Nativity 4. The Presentation in the Temple 5. The Finding in the Temple
The Five Sorrowful Mysteries are traditionally prayed on the Tuesday, Friday, and Sundays of Lent:
1. The Agony in the Garden 2. The Scourging at the Pillar 3. The Crowning with Thorns 4. The Carrying of the Cross 5. The Crucifixion and Death
The Five Glorious Mysteries are traditionally prayed on the Wednesday and Sundays outside of Lent and Advent:
1. The Resurrection 2. The Ascension 3. The Descent of the Holy Spirit 4. The Assumption 5. The Coronation of Mary
The Five Luminous Mysteries are traditionally prayed on Thursdays:
1. The Baptism of Christ in the Jordan 2. The Wedding Feast at Cana 3. Jesus' Proclamation of the Coming of the
Kingdom of God 4. The Transfiguration 5. The Institution of the Eucharist
Need some help with the Rosary? A BIG THANK YOU to parishioner Morgan Hannoy for putting together a beautiful Rosary video. She plans to have a video available on the Saturdays of May, and will cycle through each mystery of the rosary throughout this month of May.

Prayer During A Health Crisis Compassionate and Loving Father,
In the face of confusion and concern impart to us the calm of your presence.
In You allow us to find hope and healing. Be with those who serve the sick

give them Your Spirit of wisdom. Be with those who have fallen ill and
give them Your comforting heart. Wrap your arms around our world

Last Year, Pope Francis wrote an Exhortation to Young People, Christus Vivit. Each week of 2020, we will offer a quote
from that document for you to contemplate…
“Today, Mary is the Mother who watches over us, her children, on our journey through life, often weary and in need, anxious that the light of hope not fail. For that is our desire: that the light of hope never fail. Mary our Mother looks to this pilgrim people: a youthful people whom she loves, and who seek her in the silence of their hearts amid all the noise, the chatter and the distractions of the journey. Under the gaze of our Mother, there is room only for the silence of hope. Thus Mary illumines anew our youth.” CV 48
