Banyard: Specialists in Non-Ferrous Induction HeatingBanyard have been one of the world leaders in the design and manufacture of high-quality Induction heating equipment within non-ferrous heating applications, for over 50 years.

The accuracy and controllability of induction heating makes it the ideal choice for pre-heating non-ferrous billets prior to extrusion.

Today’s extruders demand billets with an accurate thermal profile at the extrusion press. The application of a thermal linear gradient or taper for Aluminium billets when presented to the press, results in a higher quality extrusion.

Precision taper heating is achieved by using the Banyard multiple control zone induction coil technology powered by lnductotherm Lfi series low frequency IGBT inverters.

In addition, this induction heater can provide temperature boost and taper when integrated to gas heater and shear/saw combinations. This provides increased temperature accuracy and repeatability, resulting in both increased output and a higher quality product.

Reduced grain growth and precipitation of Mg2Si in Aluminium alloys, improves product quality and anodising finish.

Systems are also developed for the Aluminium micro-tubing industry and provide ‘zero friction’ servo handling to eliminate billet surface damage.
