Amie Houlston

I have eight years of teaching experience specialising in the teaching and leadership of English from KS3 to KS5. As well as being Faculty Director of a large English department, I also work as Lead Practitioner for Secondary English across the Windsor Academy Trust. Through these roles, I have successfully led and managed extensive curriculum reform, at A- level, GCSE and KS3 with our transition to a mastery based curriculum. Furthermore, I have been an examiner at both KS5 and KS4 for OCR and AQA for English Language and English Literature. I have also gained a Masters qualification in Educational Innovation and Leadership from the University of Warwick where I specialised in researching effective early secondary intervention with phonetic and decoding skills. I am passionate about utilising research to facilitate innovative practice across the curriculum. Although I specialise in Secondary education, I also have extensive experience within the primary setting, having supported our primary trust schools in their preparation for the KS2 examinations and through our Mastery mornings for year 6 students, which we run within the Windsor Academy Trust.

I have a breadth of experience in supporting and leading colleagues

within schools. I am experienced in managing, facilitating and

implementing change ranging from systemic and within school initiatives.

Therefore, I am able to offer insightful support for both leadership in

English as well as teaching and learning more generally.
