Steve “The Woz” Wozniak A Silicon Valley icon and philanthropist for more than 30 years, Steve Wozniak has helped shape the computing industry around the world. In partnership with his friend, Steve Jobs, Wozniak invented the Apple I computer. The pair founded Apple Computers in 1976 with Ronald Wayne, releasing some of the first personal computers on the market. Wozniak also personally developed the next model, Apple II, which established Apple as a major player in micro computing. For his achievements at Apple, Wozniak in 1985 was awarded by U.S. President Ronald Reagan the National Medal of Technology, the highest honor bestowed on America’s leading innovators. Wozniak has been called one of “Silicon Valley’s most creative engineers.” Opening Keynote: Tuesday, March 11, 9 a.m. – 10:20 a.m. Scott Gottlieb, MD Dr. Scott Gottlieb is a practicing physician and Resident Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, a nonpartisan, not-for-profit institution dedicated to research and education on issues of government, politics and economics. He previously served as FDA Deputy Commissioner, as a senior advisor to the FDA Commissioner, and as the FDA’s Director of Medical Policy Development. He left the FDA in the spring of 2004 to work on implementation of the Medicare Drug Benefit as a Senior Adviser to the Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. A leading expert in health policy, Dr. Gottlieb provides insights into the economic, regulatory and technological forces driving the transformation of healthcare today. Dr. Gottlieb is a regular contributor to The Wall Street Journal and appears regularly as a guest commentator on the cable financial news channel CNBC. Hotel AccommodationsMedImpact will pay for hotel accommodations for prospective and current client attendees (room rate, taxes and Internet access) at The Grand Del Mar for Monday, March 10, and Tuesday, March 11. Attendees will make their own hotel reservation requests during the online registration process. You will receive a hotel confirmation email no later than March 1.Note: Rooms at The Grand Del Mar are guaranteed for the first 150 registrants.

If you wish to extend your stay beyond the two nights, you will be able to utilize MedImpact’s special room rate of $295.00 plus taxes per night. Simply indicate your desired dates during the online registration process.

A credit card will be required to hold each room reservation. All incidental expenses will be charged back to the attendee. Cancellations must be received at least 24 hours prior to arrival in order to avoid a charge of one night’s room and tax.

TransportationOut-of-town conference attendees are responsible for their travel expenses to and from the conference, including ground transportation and hotel parking. AttireThe attire for the conference is business casual. The San Diego average high temperature in early March is typically 66° F. Evenings cool off to the low 50s° F. Pack a mid-weight jacket, especially for evening events. Layering light jackets or sweaters over short sleeves is recommended.
