Classroom Procedures

At the beginning of class:

1. You will be seated in your own chair when the bell rings.

2. You will have your book, your 3-subject notebook, your homework, and a pen or a pencil on your desk. NOTHING ELSE. (5 points a day)

3. Complete the assignment that is on the board, or the worksheet that is given to you quietly and individually while I check materials/homework.

Bathroom

1. If you have to go to the bathroom, you must ask in Spanish. (Puedo ir al baño)

2. Do NOT ask me to go to the bathroom while I am teaching or explaining anything.

Absences

1. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to check the hanging folders to get what you

missed in class.

2. DO NOT COME UP TO ME AND ASK WHAT YOU MISSED!!

Homework

1. Homework is due at the beginning of class.

2. Every day I will either:

- Collect the homework and grade it for points

- Have you peer grade the homework

- Check the homework for completion

2. Late work will be accepted for half credit, but not if we review the assignment in class.

Classroom Procedures #5

Talking during activities/ Between activities

1. There is to be no talking while the teacher is explaining directions or while you are opening your books.

2. When it is your turn to complete an activity with a partner or in groups, it is your job to look for the no

talking sign to know when to stop talking.

3. The no talking sign is the teacher’s hand in the air.

4. If the talking continues, the teacher will watch the clock and see how long it took to quiet the room down. The class will stay that long after the bell to make up for lost time.

Practice

Turn to the person next to you and tell them what you did this weekend.

When you see the teachers hand go up in the air, you should raise your hand and stop talking.
