• About Fridge.
A refrigerator (colloquially fridge) is a common household appliance that consists of a thermally
insulated compartment and a heat pump (mechanical, electronic or chemical) that transfers heat fromthe inside of the fridge to its external environment so that the inside of the fridge is cooled to a
temperature below the ambient temperature of the room. Refrigeration is an essential food storage
technique in developed countries. he lower temperature lowers the reproduction rate of bacteria, so
the refrigerator reduces the rate of spoilage.
• !roblems hat are "sually faced with a fridge
#ost of the common problem are faced by the society is the current bills. Refrigerator will used
more electricity until it reaches it$s maximum coldness. %o, most of children or adult will used the
refrigerator and forget to close the door. &t will conduct more electricity due to increase it$s coldness.
his will increase the current bill of the house. o overcome this type of problem , we would li'e tointroduce our refrigerator door alarm.
• escription about the fridge system.
his is a fridge door alarm circuit, which produces an audible alarm when fridge is left open for a
preset time. his versatile alarm is based on two timer &*$s. +oth &*s are wired as astable
#ultivibrators. An R is connected in parallel to the timing capacitor *- of &* -.hen door is
completely close there will be no light inside the fridge and R offers high resistance 'eeping R-
fully charged.hen door is left open ,the lamp inside the fridge will 'eep glowing ,R will be
illuminated, and its resistance falls. his ma'es *- stop charging and starts to discharge ( &n simple
words, this is because at low resistance R bye passes much of the current in the parallel path andcapacitor gets less current). /ow &* - starts slightly oscillating and after a preset time of 0 ( time
-) seconds its output goes high. his out put ma'es the &c 0 to produce oscillations and results in a
beeping sound for next 01(time 0) seconds and cycle is repeated till door is closed.
Assemble the
circuit on a good quality !*+ .ime - 2 0 can be ad3usted by varying *-, *0, R-, R4 etc (Refer
data sheet of ).!lace the R close enough to the lamp inside the fridge.
